'Blackish' Pretends Criminal Issues are Racist Issues
Culture
November 15th, 2017 12:05 AM
Blackish is always far too willing to put social commentary ahead of actual entertainment, and the November 14 episode "Please Don't Feed the Animals" is no exception. This week's social justice topic that took the place of comedy? Issues of race and incarceration.
Fox's 'The Mick' Sexualizes Elderly with 100-Year-Old Naked Lesbian
Culture
November 14th, 2017 10:33 PM
Anybody remember Fox’s The Mick? The terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad series that promotes transgendered children, threesomes for 13-year-old boys, and preaches the goodness of birth control and Planned Parenthood? If you’ve been avoiding the second season, I salute you since the show has found one more thing to sexualize besides teens and children: the elderly.

Chelsea Handler Blames GOP, NRA for Mass Shootings
Culture
November 13th, 2017 4:49 PM
The November 10 episode of Netflix’s Chelsea is an unusual one. Titled “Making a Big Bang,” for once anti-Republican political discourses are not the goal of every single segment. The show is almost bearable. Then the last two segments happen.
CBS's 'Wisdom of the Crowd:' Trump 'Head Cheeto,' Conservatives Stupid
Culture
November 13th, 2017 1:45 PM
CBS’s Wisdom of the Crowd has already built up an anti-conservative reputation despite only being five episodes in, so it should come as no surprise that the sixth episode, “Trade Secrets,” that aired Sunday, November 12, took more shots at the right.
Showtime Comedy Mocks Lord's Prayer, Flouts Decency in Second Episode
Culture
November 13th, 2017 1:07 PM
SMILF oozed onto the scene last week in its Showtime premiere that discouraged prayer and encouraged gross immorality and, well, was just gross. In the second episode, "1,800 Filet-o-Fishes & One Small Diet Coke," on November 12, we have more of the same.

'Jane the Virgin' Character Comes Out as Bisexual
Culture

Season three of Jane the Virgin was disappointing to me in its heavy-handed political content, and season four looks like it's going to hit us over the head with even more social justice storylines. The November 10 episode, "Chapter Sixty-Nine" was big on sexuality and all the buzzwords that come with it in 2017.

‘Young Sheldon' Wants to ‘Destroy’ Pastor of Small Texas Church
Culture
November 10th, 2017 3:44 AM
When the horrific shooting in Vegas occurred last month, Hollywood rightly cancelled two movie premieres out of respect for the victims of the tragedy. But CBS’s Young Sheldon felt it was okay to air an episode, immediately after the shooting at a small-town Texas church, that depicted a small-town Texas church service with main character Sheldon (Iain Armitage) stating that he wanted to “destroy…
Sarah Silverman Marks Trump Election Anniversary With Fear And Hatred
Culture
November 9th, 2017 10:33 PM
After the fifth episode of Hulu’s I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman, I now have to accept that the humor must either be liberally biased or vulgar. Often both. She reached new heights of vulgarity last week (outside of gratuitous nudity, of course) and this week she doubled down on the anti-Trump rhetoric in “honor” of the one-year anniversary of the election.

It is the sixth episode of CBS’s SEAL Team and the show is still trying to figure out what it wants to be. Are they going to question if we’re the good guys or are they going to show us as the good guys, because this back and forth isn’t working. In Wednesday night’s episode "The Spinning Wheel," they come right out of the gate playing the race card … then fold.
‘Broad City:’ FL is a Trump-Loving, ‘White Supremacist's Wet Dream'
Culture
November 9th, 2017 2:04 AM
Comedy Central’s Broad City really wants you to know how much they hate Trump. Like, really, really. You would think the episode in which they bleeped out Trump’s name like a curse word and blamed him for a lack of orgasms would have been enough to get their hatred out of their system. But on the Wednesday, November 8 episode, “Florida,” they continued to censor Trump’s name, took a shot at Vice…

South Park: GOP in Abusive Relationship With President

On the anniversary of President Trump’s election, Comedy Central's South Park not-so-subtly suggests Trump voters were wrong. Wednesday night’s episode, titled “Doubling Down,” has two parallel storylines – a girl who refuses to break up with a boyfriend who treats her horribly, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Vice-President Mike Pence, and House Speaker Paul Ryan dealing with a sex-…
