Fans of Chelsea Handler and Michelle Wolf should rejoice. While Netflix had the good sense to cancel those shows, Hulu’s I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman has somehow returned despite a horrible, terrible, no-good, very bad first season. For a show that claims to “love” America, it sure hates a good part of it.

FX’s new show Mayans MC is a spinoff of the biker drama Sons of Anarchy, which finished its seven-season run almost four years ago. That connection seems fitting as the new series covers many of the same issues, such as gruesome violence and a love for gun deaths. However, this time around, they manage to insert a new political edge. These days, what show doesn’t?

USA Network introduced a future, dystopian United States in The Purge on Tuesday, where for one night a year “any and all crimes--including murder--is legal.”

It’s just like AMC’s Preacher to want to go out on a low note. We’ve had our share of gruesome violence and general blasphemy this season, so now it’s time to go political. TBS's Wrecked continued the longstanding tradition, lampooning rich, white men on Tuesday’s episode, “Six Feet,” as “monsters,” misogynists and sexual harassers who look down disdainfully on the poor and treat them horribly. Oh, and they make people hunt and kill each other for sport, too. Because, of course.

The entertainment industry enjoys portraying clergy and churches in the worst possible light. Unfortunately, a Canadian dramatic television series on the CW, Burden of Truth, has fallen for the usual lazy trope of painting a church minister as overly zealous. He tries to punish a bunch of teenage girls, including his own daughter, for becoming ill from a neurological disease.

Actor Kevin Hart co-presented at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and wasted no time taking a shot at President Trump at the opening - “It’s game day. But don’t worry, at this game, you guys are allowed to kneel. Do whatever the hell you want. I don’t see any old white men anywhere.” He must have missed seeing the members of Aerosmith, including lead singer Steven Tyler!

To paraphrase the late, great President Ronald Reagan, there they go again! HBO’s sports-centered show Ballers, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, featured yet another anti-Trump T-shirt on Sunday’s episode, “Don’t You Wanna Be Obama?” (The episode title alone gave us a hint that the show might throw in more anti-conservative bias as it’s been known to do in the past.)

The entertainment elites just can’t get enough of painting President Trump and his administration as racists. In the latest episode of Stephen Colbert’s Showtime animated cartoon, Our Cartoon President, President Trump is proudly racist and has to learn to tone down his rhetoric as the campaign for his re-election in 2020 continues.

Last season HBO’s sports-centered dramedy Ballers, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, left no doubt how the writers feel about conservatives, and the season 4 premiere may have given us a hint that they plan to pick right back up where they left off with their anti-Trump sentiment in the form of a not-so-subliminal message on a t-shirt.
