It didn’t seem possible to defend alleged sexual predator Harvey Weinstein. But Lindsay Lohan is doing just that.

After the election, many liberal celebrities cried “Resist!” Yet, a few brave ones called “embrace.” 

Lindsay Lohan’s out of rehab, and she welcomed herself back to America by substitute-hosting E! network’s Chelsea Lately Monday. During her opening monologue, Lohan thanked Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Anthony Weiner, and the Royal Baby for keeping the tabloids busy in her absence.

Lindsay Lohan appeared on the CBS Late Show Tuesday and besides being rather contrite was also willing to joke about her problems as well as her next stint in rehab. At one point she took a drink out of host David Letterman’s coffee mug and said, “I thought this was going to be vodka.”

NBC's David Gregory on Tuesday appeared to make the case that the public really didn't need to know about former CIA Director David Petraeus's affair with biographer Paula Broadwell. Appearing with him on NBC's Tonight Show was Lindsay Lohan who surprisingly challenged the Meet the Press host on this point (video follows with transcript and commentary):
