The news that the horrific Palisades Fire in Los Angeles was probably caused by an arsonist completely retconned much of the media climate change dramaticism tied to the disaster. But the evening broadcast networks took it a step further and buried news that the accused arsonist is an eco-extremist.

You know that a public statement from a Democrat elected official is bad when the media steps in and tries to firefight potential public backlash. Such is the case with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who gets five-alarm firefighting from NBC after saying that “every day gets worse for us.”

We at the Media Research Center have long argued that one of the most insidious forms of media bias is bias by omission: the exclusion of stories, or of key items within stories, that run counter to the ongoing media narrative. We cover those omissions as they happen, but they are usually limited to one high-profile story. But last night’s legacy evening news omitted THREE major items.

In a radical departure from the reporting we usually see with regard to immigration, a legacy news outlet elected to report GOOD news related to the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce the southern border. NBC’s report on the border is a real eye-opener:

It happened again: an explosive report drops detailing the breadth, width and scope of the extent to which the government was weaponized against conservatives. And again, the legacy media are nowhere to be found.

Like watching a bad telenovela with its predictable, bad acting- so is watching the legacy media cover Bad Bunny’s much-hyped Super Bowl halftime show. In today’s episode of that bad soap opera, NBC Nightly News covers a throwaway line as if it were a major rift directly involving the President of the United States.

Since Wednesday’s deadly attack on a Dallas, Texas Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) facility by an anti-ICE loon, ABC, CBS, and NBC followed an identical pattern from their coverage of Charlie Kirk’s assassination by cowardly refusing to tie the incendiary rhetoric from their own side about the Trump administration and its supporters to crazies taking matters into their own hands. …

There’s no other way to say it: A new report shows the Trump economy has continued to defy expectations, but you wouldn’t know any of this watching the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts.

The legacy media have cast themselves as staunch defenders of the First Amendment as they circle the wagons for Regime comic Jimmy Kimmel. However, they are nowhere to be seen as Google admits to censorship of conservatives under pressure from the Biden White House.

The legacy media are content to further self-debase by reducing themselves to heralds of the triumphant return of Free Speech Martyr Jimmy Kimmel to late-night television. In so doing, they are turning their focus on the holdout affiliate groups still refusing to air Kimmel unless he can show proof of human decency.

The nation struggles to come to grips with this latest rash of political violence. One of these incidents involved the shooting of the lobby of ABC’s Sacramento affiliate. Shockingly, NBC was the only newscast to offer these new details.

The legacy newscasts decided that Disney/ABC’s restoration of Jimmy Kimmel Live! would sit at the top of the A-block- top story on ABC and NBC, and second story on CBS. In many ways, this editorial decision exemplifies both the media’s disconnect from the public they claim to serve, and the insular circling of the wagons for one of their own under duress.

Arguably buried given it aired on Friday’s show, NBC Nightly News nonetheless offered a shocking full segment that conceded the truth there’s “growing support for political violence among the ‘younger, highly online, and ideologically left aligned’” that’s included support for Luigi Mangione, the assassination attempts on President Trump, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
