Evening news coverage of the continuing unrest in Minnesota focused nearly exclusively on the death of Alex Pretti and subsequent fallout, including personnel changes as far as who is in charge of immigration enforcement operations. But two out of the three major broadcast networks neglected to cover the destruction of the lobby of a hotel suspected of harboring government personnel.

Friday’s lead morning and evening network newscasts were no different from the Thursday shows in smearing ICE and their handling of an incident with a five-year-old boy, expressing horror over the “disturbing,” “haunting,” “powerful,” and “upsetting” images and narrative (concocted by a slew of AWFLs that seem to run the school district the child was attending). On Thursday night and Friday morning, the broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC welcomed former special counsel Jack Smith like a conquering hero as he sat for a “fiery” and “tense” hearing, but had “no regrets” and “never wavered” in wanting to protect “the rule of law” from Donald Trump and Republicans wanting to level a “threat of retribution.”

It is evident, with a Republican administration in power and immigration enforcement in the news, that the Elitist Media have developed a sudden interest in the plight of migrant children. This stands in stark contrast to the realities of the four years preceding. 

The broadcast network newscasts, having devoted the bare minimum amount of time to the Minneapolis church incursion that resulted in massive civil rights violations, now devoted the bare minimum to the arrests of three of the protesters. And in the case of ABC World News Tonight, the story was completely neglected.

Since the January 7 fatal shooting of left-wing agitator Renee Good by an ICE officer, Minneapolis has been gripped by riots, lawlessness, and escalating tensions between activists and federal law enforcement. Meanwhile, left-wing broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC have spent more than two hours of airtime blaming the chaos on immigration officials.

Earlier today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the home of Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson pursuant to a warrant related to a classified documents case. Coverage on the broadcast network evening news was muted, at best. 

NBC was the lone network evening newscast to report on the hearing on transgender bans in school sports before the United States Supreme Court. The brief report, however, quickly devolved into a lecture from legal correspondent Laura Jarrett lamenting conservatives’ position on continued attempts to erase women in sports.

The network news can hardly notice the massive welfare fraud perpetrated by Somalis in Minnesota, and the media find nothing offensive about local Democrats telling ICE to 'get the f--k out of Minneapolis' and threatening to deploy the National Guard against ICE.

In the case of the shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis, there is a congealing media narrative of a wife, mother, and good neighbor being gunned down in cold blood by the evil fed. There were other, less convenient details to this story that became public today. However, the legacy media evening newscasts have not yet reported them.

Last week NewsBusters published a study which found ABC's World News Tonight had spent just 25 seconds covering the widespread Minnesota fraud scandal involving allegedly sham businesses set up by Somalians. As of this morning, Wednesday, January 7, that number has climbed to a still-pitiful 35 seconds

A lot of what we cover here at the Media Research Center consists of bias by omission. Specifically, when media outlets omit narrative-unfriendly stories in their entirety, or omit selected details from within those stories that are inconvenient to liberal narrative. Tonight on NBC Nightly News, we saw the exact opposite.

One would think that if the hometown residence of the Vice President had its windows smashed by someone wielding a hammer, who was subsequently arrested by police after being detained by Secret Service agents, that it would make the three nightly network newscasts. But since it was an attack on JD Vance's Cincinnati dwelling, ABC and CBS skipped it.
