June 15th, 2016 3:59 PM
Stephen Colbert stooped to a new low on Tuesday night when he connected Donald Trump to Naziism and used a swastika to represent the businessman’s beliefs. In a so-called comedy bit, the Late Show host used a chalkboard to mock Trump’s attacks on Barack Obama. As he began to draw the Nazi insignia, Colbert yelled, “Trump is saying Obama is not smart because he won't say radical Islam.”

An hour into CBS’s “upfront” pitch to advertisers last Wednesday in New York’s Carnegie Hall, the network turned to late-night comedian Stephen Colbert for jokes, and he mostly laid into Donald Trump. This may or may not be a joke from the liberal host: “2016 has been a very big year for comedy, and if Trump wins, 2017 will be an even bigger year for tragedy.”

NYT: Media Has a 'Where Is Superman?' Longing for Jon Stewart, Colbert
May 3rd, 2016 6:10 AM
New York Times media columnist Jim Rutenberg likes how Comedy Central host Larry Wilmore “keeps it 100" (percent honest). So he declared in Monday’s newspaper that Wilmore and his fellow Comedy Central host Trevor Noah aren’t up the task of satirizing the 2016 campaign. In a story on Stephen Colbert revamping his Late Show on CBS, Rutenberg lamented there is a “Where Is Superman?” feeling about…

March 31st, 2016 11:23 AM

February 23rd, 2016 5:42 PM
They say "honesty is the best policy" but apparently Democratic presidential candidate frontrunner Hilary Clinton didn’t get that memo either. Nevertheless, comedian Stephen Colbert tried passing along the message to her this past Friday on The Late Show when he joked, “lying should be the easiest part of campaigning,” reacting to the cringe-worthy, face-palm inducing statement the former…

While a guest on The Late Show on CBS Wednesday evening, Killer Mike -- a hip hop artist and social activist -- told liberal host Stephen Colbert that the American government in several levels is successful at isolating poor people and minorities by putting them "in communities that can be controlled.”
“If white people are just now discovering that it's bad for black or working-class people in…
Stephen Colbert Will Pretend to Support Trump on Face The Nation
December 24th, 2015 2:52 PM
Don't panic, liberals. Stephen Colbert won't really be supporting Donald Trump on Face The Nation this Sunday. He will only be pretending to support Trump in his character of pretend conservative from The Colbert Report. Since his current Late Show ratings on CBS are falling, one can't blame him for attempting to reprise a role that enjoyed some success. Of course, many liberals out there won't…

Most prominent, Late Show host Stephen Colbert trashed conservative donor Sheldon Adelson as a “part-time Kuato” (a reference to the alien in the movie Total Recall) and Late Night host Seth Meyers joked that each of the nine major candidates…
Conservatives Shun Colbert Because ‘Smart Comedy Has a Liberal Bias’
November 29th, 2015 2:20 PM
You’ve probably heard the phrase “too smart for the room.” Penn State professor Sophia McClennen thinks that Stephen Colbert is too smart for America, or at least a huge chunk of it, and that consequently he’s fallen to third place in late-night television’s ratings race. In a Monday Salon piece, McClennen argued that even though Colbert has “moved his satire into a more centrist mode” since…
