USA Today's liberal video commentator Trysta Krick, who fashions her shtick as something of a Jim Rome wannabe, is calling for the NFL to severely punish the Houston Texans over an unwise remark by the team's owner at a recent league meeting. She suggested a fine or the loss of a draft pick.

With athletes, cheerleaders and singers across the nation now commonly dissing Old Glory, The Chicago Tribune suggests it's not even appropriate for corporations to play the national anthem at sporting events. On The Town Editor Kevin Williams argues the Star Spangled Banner is getting the disrespect it deserves because it shouldn't be used at sporting events owned by private businesses.

Last week, Anthony Crupi at AdAge.com was either willfully ignorant or deliberately deceptive when he claimed that the size of the National Football League's TV ratings decline is inconsequential. Crupi also appears to be quite wrong in contending that actual game attendance — not reported attendance, but "turnstile" attendance — during the 2017 season is only barely down compared to last year.
