On Friday, while both NBC’s Today and ABC’s Good Morning America provided full reports on left-wing actor Johnny Depp joking about assassinating President Trump, CBS This Morning could only manage 45 seconds of air time out of its two-hour broadcast to mention the latest outrageous celebrity outburst. 

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Tuesday examined the lack of civility in America and, somehow, managed to avoid discussing the attempted slaughter of Republican members of Congress by a rage-filled Bernie Sanders supporter. Trying to murder your political opponents would seem to be a rather uncivil action.

Such charges were hyped by the same media that excused the Clinton Foundation scandal that swirled around Hillary Clinton.

Democratic Senator Joe Manchin appeared on Monday’s CBS This Morning and offered some skepticism and tough questions for ex-FBI Director James Comey. Yet, the show’s hosts desperately pushed for signs that Donald Trump has done something deeply wrong.

While these sorts of interviews are unsurprising, they’re still worth documenting. Tuesday’s CBS This Morning featured a gooey interview with Democratic Senator Al Franken (Minn.) to promote his new book, encourage him to run for president, and swoon over “how hard you work” while still being “a complete delight.”
