David Brooks
Assessing the Covington Catholic Critics
January 23rd, 2019 10:50 AM
Those who weighed in on this Covington Catholic High School student story include some members of the Catholic clergy, Catholic lay leaders, and non-Catholics. Some were temperate in their remarks and some were vicious. Some have issued a full-throated apology, while others have offered less than a complete apology. Others are sticking to their guns. Two persons went off the cliff.
Leftist Rage at David Brooks for Defending Covington Catholic Students
January 22nd, 2019 10:09 PM
Did columnist David Brooks put his New York Times gig at risk on Monday? Most people at liberal mainstream media outlets that have reported on the incident in Washington D.C. on Friday involving the Covington Catholic high school students, after having been made aware of the longer video and more facts about what actually happened, seem to be using the weasel type of position of saying something…
Twitter Won’t Delete Threats Against Covington MAGA Teens
January 21st, 2019 4:37 PM
Twitter has refused to delete many calls for violence by verified Twitter celebrities against conservative Catholic students or suspend the offenders stay from the platform. A fake news story falsely accused Covington Catholic High School students of harassing a Native American activist outraged the internet this past weekend. The story has since been corrected by some outlets, but the damage has…

Both PBS Pundits Tout 'Moderate' Democrats, Endorse Speaker Pelosi
November 17th, 2018 3:27 PM
On Friday's PBS NewsHour, we were "treated" to "bipartisan" agreement among the pundits that the Ocasio-Cortez Class of Democrats is a centrist, or non-ideological bunch. The headline was "David Brooks and Ruth Marcus on a ‘moderate’ new congressional class." Pseudo-conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks and liberal Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus were energetically agreed in…
2018 Midterms: All About Obama
October 25th, 2018 6:09 PM
Former President Selfie Stick is back in action, firing up Democrats before the midterms with his signature rallying cries: I, I, I, I! Me, me, me! My, my, my! According to a tally by The American Mirror's Kyle Olson, Barack Obama's campaign speech Monday for Nevada Senate Democratic candidate Jacky Rosen referred to himself 92 times in 38 minutes -- or an average self-allusion every 24.7 seconds…
NPR Anchor Asks If GOP Using the 'Mob' Word Will 'Backfire' with Women
October 14th, 2018 11:51 AM
On Friday's night's All Things Considered, the Week in Politics segment began by pushing the theme that the Republican rhetoric about "mobs" is all wrong, and will harm them in the midterms. NPR anchor Ailsa Chang brought no context about protesters mobbing the front door of the Supreme Court, or screaming Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife out of a restaurant. She said the "mob" has a lot of women in it…
NY Times Columnist David Brooks: Anonymous NYT Op-Ed a 'Stupid Act'
September 8th, 2018 10:49 PM
New York Times columnist David Brooks expressed public disagreement with his editorial-page bosses on Friday night's All Things Considered on NPR. He didn't directly mock their choice to publish an anonymous "senior administration official" bragging about how they keep President Trump in check from his worst impulses. He just mocked the official: "It was a stupid act. You know, if you're going to…
Trump and Sulzberger on Media Bias
August 2nd, 2018 5:08 PM
Every president since George Washington has suffered from a critical press. John F. Kennedy canceled all White House subscriptions to the New York Herald Tribune because of coverage he regarded as unfavorable. President Obama, who was almost universally adored by mainstream media, sometimes complained he wasn’t getting all the credit he thought he deserved for his policies; never mind that in…

PBS Analyst Mark Shields Twists Trump Into 'Calling People Animals'
May 27th, 2018 4:00 PM
Liberal PBS NewsHour analyst Mark Shields is one of those journalists who refuse to admit there’s any context to President Trump describing criminal aliens like MS-13 gang members as “animals.” On Friday’s news roundup, Shields protested "you have got the leader of one party calling people animals."

On PBS, Mark Shields Trashes Nunes & Co. as 'Outrageous Adolescents'
May 20th, 2018 7:49 AM
PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff asked her regular Friday pundits David Brooks and Mark Shields to evaluate the Robert Mueller probe after a year. Shields, for his part, took out a verbal baseball bat and began attacking House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes as not only stupid and immature, but as the 21st century equivalent of Joe McCarthy:
David Brooks Expresses Grudging Respect for Trump's Accomplishments
May 11th, 2018 12:54 PM
New York Times columnist David Brooks has committed the unpardonable sin in liberal eyes of expressing support for President Donald Trump's foreign policy. Even though he described Trump as coming from a "thug" background, showing any support, even of a grudging variety, for Trump is quite surprising considering Brooks' extreme Never Trumper background.
David Brooks: Anti-Trumpism Has Failed
April 10th, 2018 9:09 PM
After more than a year of relentless opposition to President Donald Trump, New York Times "conservative" columnist David Brooks has thrown his hands in the air and has declared that blind resistance is futile. Notably absent in his April 9 column is that he himself has been guilty of many of the excesses and extreme hubris of the anti-Trumpers. Brooks lays out his case without much of a sense of…
David Brooks Describes Anti-Gun March as 'Very Moderate'
March 31st, 2018 5:55 PM
David Brooks announced on PBS he attended the "March for Our Lives." He said "I went to watch. And I went to be with the marchers as a journalistic observer, of course. And it shocked me as a very moderate march." That's funny. I was also there in DC as an observer, with my son, helping him capture crazy liberal signs for MRCTV. I didn't think it was "very moderate" at all.

David Brooks Dissolves the PBS/NPR Charade That He's Conservative
March 31st, 2018 8:08 AM
PBS and NPR both use New York Times columnist David Brooks as their one "house conservative" to assess the week in review on Fridays. And both know that isn't the slightest bit accurate. On Friday on PBS, Brooks declared it was "menacing" for the 2020 census to once again ask people if they are a citizen of the United States. On NPR, Brooks even made anchorman Ari Shapiro laugh by saying of…
