On her Tuesday show on MSNBC, Chris Jansing portrayed the Georgia Senate race between Republican Herschel Walker and Democrat Raphael Warnock as a contest between two different versions of Christianity. Naturally, Walker was said to represent the bad “right-wing” version, while Warnock represents the good “Southern tradition of faith-based civil rights” version.

Kudos to CBS and reporter Mark Strassmann for fairness. Strassmann, on the CBS Evening News and CBS Mornings shows was the only journalist to repeatedly note that the powerful Los Angeles politician who went on a racist rant is a Democrat. ABC barely noticed it. NBC covered the story once on Tuesday, but made no mention of party affiliation.

MSNBC reached self-parodying status on Monday night as a segment on The 11th Hour led by guest host Alicia Menendez on racism in politics led to racist accusations that Republicans are actively looking for a “black Manchurian candidate” and “black male supplicant” to advance white power.
