Republicans are busy acting like Republicans and Andrea Mitchell and her Thursday panel of guests on MSNBC are beside themselves. From abortion, not giving minors puberty blockers, not teaching elementary students about sexual orientation, guns, the Commission of Presidential Debates, to redistricting, she warned about the GOP’s “hard right turn.”

On his Wednesday show on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel declared that if you support Florida’s new law that prohibits K-3 discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity, it is because you are dumb. He also rolled out show writer Louis Virtel to call Gov. Ron DeSantis and others everything from “dumb” to “homophobic.”

In the era of “toxic masculinity,” second wave feminism and a list of available gender identity options longer than a Cheesecake Factory menu, fatherhood isn’t exactly in a golden age. (Not that mothers – er, “birthing people” – are doing much better.) But fatherhood is about to face its sternest challenge yet: Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is in favor of it.

On her new weekend show, MSNBC host Katie Phang did her part to push for the defeat of Governor Ron DeSantis as she trashed the Florida Republican's agenda as "hard right," and provided a softball forum for his likely Democratic opponent, Congressman Charlie Crist.

On Sunday’s Reliable Sources on CNN, host Brian Stelter continued his obsessive coverage of what he claims is the conservative media war against the Walt Disney company by bringing on Abigail Disney, the granddaughter of co-founder Roy Disney, to discuss the controversy surrounding her family’s company. 

On Sunday’s Meet the Press on NBC, anchor Chuck Todd seemed to be hoping for the Republican Party to be punished in the upcoming midterm elections for what he claims is “overreaching” in the culture wars. 

The anti-grooming laws being enacted throughout the nation, and which grant parents the right to educate their young children on the subjects of sex and gender identity-as opposed to teachers at school- allowed the anchors of Telemundo´s morning kaffeeklatsch Hoy Día a chance to publicly grieve the “awful situation” on-air during a report that fell short in details and went overboard…

First the "objective" newspapers wage war on Republicans. Then when Republicans call them "fake news," they write nasty articles about being called "fake news." For example, the Miami Herald posted an article headlined: "DeSantis calls out ‘fake news,’ but his campaign used fake news site to raise cash." DeSantis rented an email list from The Babylon Bee. 

On New Day Saturday, fill-in co-host Laura Jarrett suggested that Disney has not been aggressive enough in pushing against Republicans on parents' rights in Florida schools, complaining that Disney's response to the law restricting the teaching of LGBT issues to young school children was done "belatedly." Monday on The Psaki Show, Fox’s Peter Doocy made what could be one of his final cracks at White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki before her rumored move to MSNBC and he made it count with a tense exchange on transgenderism, the Florida parental rights in education law, and whether the White House thinks children at age six should learn sex ed.
