The Daily Show wrapped up the month of February on Comedy Central on Thursday by sending correspondent Josh Johnson out into the world to interview the masses and pretend that the Trump Administration getting rid of DEI initiatives means people can no longer say things like “civil rights” or “oppression” when talking about history.

The beleaguered CBS Evening News is still defending the interview, even as the parties move closer to settling the $20B lawsuit.

CBS’s Stephen Colbert freaked out on Wednesday’s edition of The Late Show over changes the White House has made to the press pool, claiming, “Trump and his team have a taste of the blood of journalists.” Colbert was so distraught that CNN’s Pamela Brown had to urge patience a bit later in the show as she suggested a wait-and-see approach to the changes.

Between Friday morning and Wednesday morning, ABC, CBS, and NBC have giddily devoted 16 minutes and 38 seconds to House Republicans being ambushed at town halls with angry attendees lashing out over their support for President Trump, Elon Musk, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

We all expected the Democrat/corporate media alliance to come up with some bogus reason to oppose the Trump administration’s cuts to government waste, but some of the programs these journalists are mourning are beyond parody. It’s starting to feel like there’s an ongoing bet in the “mainstream press” to see who can find the dumbest possible government project to defend in earnest.

CNN This Morning airs a clip of John King's trip to Colorado's 8th District, in which he interviewed four people who voted for Trump. All express some reservations about his style or specific policies, but not one says that if they had to do it again, they wouldn't have voted for him.
