Has Ed Schultz watched The Manchurian Candidate one time too many? On his MSNBC show this evening, Ed tried to pin a wacky conspiracy theory on conservatives. According to Schultz: conservatives are "trying to get Americans to buy into this is: if you're a Muslim and you're here in the united States, you're a plant." So conservatives are trying to convince Americans that Dearborn, Michigan is one big sleeper cell? Really, Ed? Got any evidence to support your fevered accusation?
For good measure, a bit earlier Ed toed the liberal line, denying the undeniable and claiming that the actions of the Charlie Hebdo terrorists "are entirely inconsistent with Islam." Right.
Of course Americans should be concerned about the infiltration of our country by Muslim terrorists. But by no means are conservatives casting all Muslims here as "plants." That's a slur by Schultz on conservatives and Muslims alike.
ED SCHULTZ: The terrorists who opened fire on a magazine and in a grocery store aren't following Islam. They're following a separate, and horrific, political agenda . . . The way the conservatives are positioning themselves on this and trying to get Americans to buy into this: if you're a Muslim and you're here in the United States, you're a plant. You're here, but you're not here to be American.
