At the Media Research Center’s annual gala, featuring the “DisHonors Awards” – a week ago tonight – MSNBC’s Krystal Ball “won” the “#obamacarefail Award” for declaring conservative opposition to ObamaCare “a national disgrace” by those okay with people dying so long as it serves the goal “of hurting this President and denying him a victory.”
Her quote earned the distinction as judged by the audience of more than 900, who voted by electronic device at each table, during the September 25 event at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC.
Larry Kudlow presented the “#obamacarefail Award” nominees (Thomas Roberts and Ed Schultz in addition to Ball) and conservative lawyer Cleta Mitchell, who is leading the IRS fight, accepted it in jest on behalf of Ball. Mitchell quipped from the stage at the MRC’s event: “ObamaCareFail, isn’t that redundant?” And she joked that the possibility someone at the gala had Lois Lerner’s e-mails under their chair is “about as plausible as anything else we’ve heard.”

Ball won for this angry rant on MSNBC’s The Cycle back on September 24, 2013:
The GOP is saying to young people, ‘We would like to have the government stick an unnecessary transvaginal probe in you if you want an abortion, but when it comes to health insurance, don’t take any government help....Stay away. Stay uninsured. Skip that pap smear. Skip that tetanus shot. Skip that prenatal care. Skip that cholesterol test. And if you die an agonizing and unnecessary death, one that could have been prevented by the health insurance reform that bears the President’s name, at least you know your death will have not been in vain. You will have died to serve the noble and patriotic cause not of conservatism, but of hurting this President and denying him a victory.’...That is not conservative. It is a national disgrace.
