On the eve of the vice presidential debate, President Obama sat down for an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC's World News.
When she asked what his message would be to Joe Biden as he prepares himself to go up against Paul Ryan in Kentucky, Obama humorously answered the pointless question without hesitation -- smiling as he did. [ video below, MP3 audio available here ]
Considering everything the incumbent vice president has said in recent memory, Obama probably didn't mean that.
While there are a wealth of 'gaffes' to choose from over the last four years, some stick out more than others.
Here are some of our favorites:
-There was that time he warned a diverse group of people that a Romney/Ryan Administration would put them "back in chains".
-In an attempt to explain the historical significance of Obama's run for president, he described his future running mate as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”
-Let's not forget when he spelled a three letter word J-O-B-S
-He also called the passage of the Affordable Health Care Act "a big f--king deal" and assured voters that the president "has a big stick," but the list doesn't end there.
Karl Rove's Super PAC American Crossroads compiled some of them into an ad titled "Run, Joe, Run."
Here's hoping the hilarity continues. If Biden takes Obama's advice to be himself, it just might.
