WaPo's Richard Cohen Calls Romney 'The Village Idiot'

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has successfully founded a private equity company, rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics, and governed the state of Massachusetts.

Despite such accomplishments, the Washington Post's Richard Cohen on Monday called Romney "the village idiot":

The refusal of the contemporary Republican Party to acknowledge a role for government is linked to an illogical determination never to raise taxes. Obama may be too liberal for some, but the alternative that Romney offers by parroting the conservative GOP line is simply not credible. Prosperity may not always take a village, but it sure doesn’t take the village idiot.

So, a man who founded a private equity company, led the Winter Olympics, and governed Massachusetts is "the village idiot."

By comparison, Barack Obama who never actually produced anything is the smartest man on the planet.

Needless to say, to the liberal media, there really isn't anyone with the qualifications to be president that isn't a Democrat.

These folks like to foolishly talk about how Ronald Reagan wouldn't be welcome in today's Republican Party.

Although that's patently false, it's a metaphysical certitude that if Abraham Lincoln were the GOP's nominee, folks like Cohen would be calling him "the village idiot."
