Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Tuesday said former President Bill Clinton is behaving like a "double agent" with some of the remarks he's been making about Barack Obama.
Appearing on Fox News's Special Report, Krauthammer also said, "I think he really is now a bull in a china shop, and there’s a lot of crockery that’s being destroyed” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
In the middle of a discussion about Clinton’s recent comments that seem to undermine President Obama, host Bret Baier said, “President Clinton told CNBC that he thought the country was already in a recession…and said all of the Bush era tax cuts should be extended.”
Krauthammer replied, “Well, I think he really is now a bull in a china shop, and there’s a lot of crockery that’s being destroyed.”
Later, the Hill’s A.B. Stoddard said of Clinton, “He is a loose cannon to put it mildly.”
“Loose cannon?” responded Krauthammer. “He’s a double agent. What’s the message? Bill Clinton says elect Obama because at the end of his second term, you might begin to be getting out of recession? I wouldn’t run on that.”
