Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said at Monday's debate in South Carolina that Mitt Romney's inability to control what a Super PAC supporting him says "makes you wonder how much influence he’d have if he were President” (video follows with transcribed highlights):
Moderator Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal asked the former Speaker of the House about an ad being run in South Carolina created by a Super PAC supporting Mitt Romney.
Gingrich responded, “This is typical of what both Senator Santorum and I have complained about with Governor Romney’s Super PAC over which he apparently has no influence - which makes you wonder how much influence he’d have if he were President.”
