Why does Hasan Piker hate the First Amendment? On Tuesday, Piker filed a lawsuit against CNN commentator and Salem radio host Scott Jennings over accusations that he favored lynchings for black Americans. He asked for $72 million in damages. This clearly delighted Piker fans like Dean Obeidallah, who tweeted "Bankrupt the scumbag."

When Donald Trump sues left-wing media, the left-wing media unleash panic-stricken outrage that it’s the end of Democracy. It's double-scary if media outlets settle out of court. But if a Marxist sues a conservative communicator, it’s not. It sounds just a little funny when a lawyer for a Mao Zedong superfan complains about “lost business opportunities.”

Piker's complaint alleges that he never said he wants to resume lynchings, that he was satirically mocking conservatives.

The Piker video here snips several ignorant-sounding profane rants. The legal brief, filed in the District of Columbia, cites a breakdown of longer clips of ignorant-sounding profane rants from Snopes.com that came out two days after the Jennings tweet. Snopes reporter Jordan Liles pieced together context from a YouTube account that preserves Piker show segments.

-- In July 2024, Piker yelled at someone who said “black people care about the border,” leading him to lose his mind:

Man, shut the f*** up. "Black people care about the border." I don't give a f*** what Black people care about or what you think Black people care about, OK? I'm talking across the board, the Democratic Party literally is going to f***ing lose, and, even if they don't lose, move the country to a significantly more right-wing position, OK? Aw, "Black people care about this. Black people care about that." Like, shut the f*** up. That's not how politics works, OK?

-- In June 2025, Piker lost his temper again when a user told him “Can you shut the f*** up when it comes to Black folk because you really don't want to talk about us unless it comes from voting. When is the last time you spoke about Sudan?" He shot back:

“I'm gonna f***ing ether you. Any other Black folk want to engage in radical activist language in this f***ing chat? Suck my f***ing cock, OK?”

In October 2024, Piker went after black conservative Xaviaer DuRousseau from a Jubilee debate for mentioning "woke DAs," mocking him as a racist who favored lynchings:

"We need more Klansmen as DAs, OK? Can we go back to a better time when lynchings were happening? This is what I like as a Black man. Also, there's no real racism in America." My man said "woke DAs," dude. What are you saying?” When someone objected to this mockery, Piker shot back: "Why you always doing too much with Black people? Leave them alone. 'I wanna go back to lynching' like I get it but f***ing relax." Man, shut the f*** up, ok? God damn.”

Now wouldn’t it be interesting if DuRousseau sued Hasan Piker? After all, Piker clearly performed the original smear here, suggesting the black conservative would like to go back to lynching blacks.
