MS NOW loves a good conspiracy theory, and the latest is Trump's coming out as gay.
Morning Joe devoted Wednesday's opening to yet another segment on President Trump’s comments about Ohio Senator John Husted's physique. Trump had once again described studying the senator’s body at a rally, including an explicit reference to his “ass” as “a pile of muscle.”
Mika Brzezinski anounced: "For the third time in eight days in three different states, President Trump is praising the physique of Republican Senator John Husted of Ohio." Willie Geist added: "I know that like as people get older, sometimes things come out."
Less than two weeks before the midterms, the show treated the remarks as the day's lead story, rather than as a brief aside. One week ago, we noted the show's innuendo-laden comments on the same subject.
Geist called Trump's male-physique critiques "a relentless obsession, and it's getting more frequent by the day." He edged even closer to the implication the panel clearly wanted to make:
“I don't know what's going on, but I don't know, a lot of people seem to think it's pretty obvious what's going on, but we'll leave it to that. I think people should just be honest and authentic, and I think that's a beautiful thing when that happens, and, I don't know, maybe the president's telling us something.”

Mika removed any remaining ambiguity, piling on with the full Seinfeld:
“Yeah, okay, well, good to know, good to know....I mean: not that there's anything wrong with that.”
Opening the segment, Mika admitted that, with his comments, Trump might just be trying to “trigger” the media.
But Morning Joe chose to take Trump’s words at full, um, face value.
Here’s the transcript.

DONALD TRUMP: So, he's over here, I'm over here, and I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course [chuckles]. Nothing. I always precede it by saying nothing wrong. But it's never been my thing, to be honest with you.But I looked at his ass. And then I looked at his legs, and it might, I said, his ass is, shit, it's like, it's like a pile of muscle. Then I looked at his legs. And I said, man, his feet are big. Then I looked at his shoulders and I tapped him on the shoulder and it actually hurt my hand. It was like a piece of steel.
And by the time I finished with that story, he went from being ten points down to being two points today. A poll came out. He's two points up.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Uh, okay. For the third time in eight days in three different states, President Trump is praising the physique of Republican Senator John Husted of Ohio.
Willie, I know that like as people get older, sometimes things come out. But I'm just, what's going on here? Is this like a fun little trigger for the press, or are we like seeing the process of aging playing out in real life? What, what's with the obsession with the male body?
WILLIE GEIST: I don't know, but it is a relentless obsession, and it's getting more frequent by the day. This is, as you said, the third time he's talked about Senator Husted's rear end, talked about Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart's legs a lot. He has service, male service members stand up so he can examine their bodies and talk about the parts he likes.
I don't know what's going on, but I don't know, a lot of people seem to think it's pretty obvious what's going on, but we'll leave it to that.
I think people should just be honest and authentic, and I think that's a beautiful thing when that happens, and, I don't know, maybe the president's telling us something. I don't know.
MIKA: Yeah! Okay, well, good to know, good to know. With us we have MS NOW national affairs analyst—I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that.
