On the "Behind the Table" podcast, The View co-host Ana Navarro delivered another unhinged denunciation of President Donald Trump, even going so far as to warn that the U.S. will face a grim future if Republicans maintain control of Congress. In conversation with the show’s executive producer, Brian Teta, Navarro suggested GOP “rubber stamps” will help make the next two years under Trump “Dante’s circles of hell.”

Navarro kicked off her anti-Trump rant with the claim that voters had repeatedly made the wrong choice at the ballot box. When Teta remarked that Navarro had previously called every recent election the most important election of her life, she had a lot to say: “And none of these times have these people chosen – made the right choice, dammit!”

Even with Teta’s reminder that voters chose Biden to win the 2020 election cycle, Navarro was adamant to return to her attack on Trump’s presidency with the declaration that his second administration had been even worse than the first:

As bad as Donald Trump one was, this has been so much worse. He has surrounded himself by a ton of unqualified, yes men and women who do not push back on anything that he wants to do, and he's been doing horrible things. It's corruption. It's the grift. It's the cruelty. It's the, you know, picking on Canada and Greenland, it's the destroying of international alliances.

Navarro offered little nuance, relying heavily on loaded language and sweeping accusations to paint Trump’s presidency as a disaster.

With no end in sight, Navarro went on to slam Congressional Republicans as “rubber stamps,” accusing them of allowing Trump to do “whatever the hell he wants for the last two years.” She then warned that the next two years would be “Dante’s circles of hell” if Republicans remain in power (Click “expand”):

And also, there has been zero pushback from Congress. The Republicans in Congress are rubber stamps. And even though they know that some of the things he is doing, the tariffs, the immigration crackdowns are horrible, and they are, you know, on principle against, they stay silent, and they don't push back. They have let him do whatever the hell he wants for the last two years.

And so, if the Republicans stay in power, if the first two years were bad, the next two years are going to be Dante's circles of hell! And so, I think it is important because Donald Trump is increasingly unhinged, increasingly insane, increasingly bad as precedent. And his administration is increasingly cruel.

Navarro’s rhetoric grew even more heated when the discussion turned to immigration enforcement, in which she described Trump as “increasingly unhinged” and his administration as “increasingly cruel,” before invoking reports of people being detained and killed.

While these are serious matters, Navarro’s delivery relied heavily on her emotions to reinforce her condemnation of the administration. She even seemed to suggest trump wanted more ICE killings (Click “expand”):

Today, they announced that they were ordering ICE to increase the number of arrests and deportations daily, as if we haven't seen enough U.S. citizens and legal immigrants and people who have no criminal records dragged through the streets and shot and killed. Now they want those numbers to be even higher up.

So, if we're going to stop this insanity, if we are going to have any pushback, any chance at accountability, any chance at oversight of stopping what is just like -  The attack on the press, the attacks, the weaponizing of government against his opponents, the wars, the wars that make absolutely no sense with no end in sight.

If there is going to be any accountability to any of it, there has got to be a change in Congress, because Republicans have proven themselves incapable of providing a check and balance.

I don't think this democracy of ours works without checks and balances. And the Republicans have abdicated their duty to provide that. And that's why we need a change, and that's why I think it is important. Because I shiver at the thought of what two years the next two years, the last two years of Trump will be like if there is zero pushback and accountability.

Even the possibility of Democrats retaking Congress couldn’t steer Navarro away from her Trump doomsaying, in which she insisted the Trump would keep doing “a bunch of the different things that he’s doing” and ignore the courts:

TETA: Well, here's a question I have. I asked Alyssa about this earlier in the week. If it goes the way that I think you feel like it will with the Democrats regaining Congress, what is a lame duck Donald Trump two years look like?

NAVARRO: I think he's still going to do a bunch of the different things that he's doing because he doesn't care, right? The courts order him to not do something. And he still does it.

So, if even voting for the Democrats to take control of Congress wasn’t going to change anything, why advocate for it at all?

No host of The View can discuss Trump without a sense of doom.

BRIAN TETA We've been talking about the midterm elections, and yesterday you called the selection the most important election of your life. That is something I believe I've heard you say before in the time I've known you, because there's been some pretty damn conse-

ANA NAVARRO: And none of these times have these people chosen - made the right choice, damn it!

TETA: Well, 2020, they went with Biden. That was something you thought was important to. Why is this election so important?

He has surrounded himself by a ton of unqualified, yes men and women who do not push back on anything that he wants to do, and he's been doing horrible things. It's corruption. It's the grift.
