According to Bozell, the appearance is less about a casual interview and more about political survival for ABC. MRC data reveals a staggering partisan disparity on The View—tracking 128 liberal guests to just two conservative voices. Bozell speculates that the network, currently facing intense FCC scrutiny over its programming balance, likely extended the invite expecting a rejection.

Instead, Vance accepted. Bozell notes that the modern cabinet consists of "seasoned media professionals" who actually gravitate toward hostile environments to stay sharp. While the panel will undoubtedly try to drive a wedge between Vance and the President, Bozell expected Vance's intellect to rise above the sniping.
