Last week, a NewsBusters investigation of the Epstein Files uncovered that four of the six co-hosts of The View were referenced in the files nearly four dozen times. Despite those revelations, The View continued to pound on the files during Wednesday’s episode, mocking Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick getting grilled on Capitol Hill for his interactions with the convicted pedophile. However, as they were questioning how Lutnick’s nanny’s resume ended up in the Epstein files, the resume of a former employee of moderator Whoopi Goldberg was also in there and went undisclosed to viewers.
“Yesterday you-know-who's commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, he testified before a Senate appropriations committee, and he had to walk back these claims he made last October about his contact with Jeffrey Epstein,” Goldberg announced while making a mocking surprise face.
Ironically, upon returning to their live shot following some soundbites of Lutnick, Goldberg declared: “I think he thought that those e-mails were never ever going to see the light of day and that people were not going to be reading them with a fine tooth comb.”
Whoopi Goldberg takes shots at Howard Lutnick for interactions with Epstein, but a NewsBusters investigation found emails in the Epstein Files showing that Goldberg reached out to Epstein to borrow his private jet to get to a charity event.

Later in the segment, co-host Sara Haines (who had arguably been the co-host with the most enthusiasm for releasing the Epstein Files) called out how Lutnick apparently went to Epstein’s infamous island in 2012, after his 2008 conviction. She also pointed out that the files included the resume for his nanny:
I am more disgusted by the people that covered for it. The people that would take the money for anything and turn their eyes as people continued to be abused. Because just to give you an idea of a time line, in 2012 when they went to pedo island for lunch on vacation, his nannies were there. In 2013, Epstein's lawyer had his nanny's resume. How – what – who are you passing off on who? Like, Lutnick's nanny who had visited the island all of a sudden somehow Epstein who has no kids has the nanny's resume.
Sara Haines gets righteously indignant about Lutnick's nanny's resumes being in the Epstein files, but NewsBusters discovered resumes of people ties to Whoopi Goldberg in the files too.

As NewsBusters’ investigation showed, 2013 was the year that Epstein’s infamous private jet was requested for Goldberg’s use. “Whoopi Goldberg needs a plane to get to Monaco. John Lennon's Charity is paying for it. They don't want to charter so they are looking for private owners,” the e-mail began. It went on to seemingly offer Epstein a spot in the event as a guest of Goldberg’s
But even Epstein didn’t want anything to do with Goldberg, replying with a misspelt “no thnaks.”

Additionally, while Haines had noted the nanny’s resume was in the files, there was a resume in there, which listed Goldberg as a reference.
The Epstein Files included a resume for a “Paul Canzano,” which listed his “career experience” as “Chief of Staff / Director of Residences / Estate Manager/Chef.” Listed under his past employers was Goldberg, who he allegedly worked for from “1998-2002” as an “Estate Manager/Project Manager/Event Planner” for a New York property.
Canzano also allegedly worked as an “Estate Manager/Chef” for President Gerald Ford in 1984. His latest work experience listed was as an “Estate Manager /Consultant and Owners Rep” for First Quality from “2010-2011.” This meant the resume found its way to Epstein after his conviction too. According to another e-mail, Canzano was referred to Epstein to manage a property.

A sheet titled "professional references" was also floating around in the files. It's unclear whose resume the sheet belongs too, but it too listed Goldberg.
“I was just thinking, like, is there anything worse than being a pedophile? There's nothing worse,” co-host Joy Behar declared on Wednesday as they were nearing the end of the segment.
Goldberg chimed in with her own two cents. “When you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. Well, the fleas are coming home to roost,” she quipped.
"Well, the fleas for coming how to roost."

Yesterday you-know-who's commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, he testified before a Senate appropriations committee, and he had to walk back these claims he made last October about his contact with Jeffrey Epstein. [Makes mocking surprise face]. Let’s take a look.

HOWARD LUTNICK (commerce secretary): … that I have done absolutely nothing wrong in any possible regard.
[Cuts back to live]
GOLDBERG: So --
JOY BEHAR: So.
GOLDBERG: I think he thought that those e-mails were never ever going to see the light of day and that people were not going to be reading them with a fine tooth comb.
BEHAR: That’s right.
GOLDBERG: And he felt very comfortable saying ‘I don’t know. He nasty.’

SARA HAINES: I am more disgusted by the people that covered for it.
What are you passing her off --
SUNNY HOSTIN: Epstein may have asked for her resume.
HAINES: Yes. And so, at this point, Howard Lutnick, you're gross! You're gross!

BEHAR: I was just thinking, like, is there anything worse than being a pedophile?
HOSTIN: No.
BEHAR: There's nothing worse.
HOSTIN: No.
BEHAR: If you are accused of raping a nine-year-old, a 12-year-old, whatever, there is nothing worse than that. In fact, I believe in the death penalty for some of these people.
ANA NAVARRO: Well, and since the pedophile is dead, covering up for that pedophile even after his death --
BEHAR: The whole thing. There's nothing worse than that.
HOSTIN: Cause you're killing a childhood.
BEHAR: Of course, they'll cover for each other. Of course, they're going to lie because once that gets out, they are finished. So, just accept that they are liars.
GOLDBERG: When you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
BEHAR: You wake up with fleas. That’s right.
GOLDBERG: Well, the fleas are coming home to roost. We'll be right back.
