On World News Sunday, ABC News anchor David Muir read a brief story relaying to viewers an attack on former Vice President Cheney by CIA Director Leon Panetta which appeared in the New Yorker magazine. In the interview, Panetta suggested that Cheney may desire to see terrorists hit America again for his own benefit. Muir recounted:
And there were some other tough words tonight in Washington from CIA Director Leon Panetta about former Vice President Cheney. Cheney has repeatedly, of course, criticized the Obama administration's approach to terrorism, saying he is endangering America. Leon Panetta told the New Yorker magazine, "It's almost as if he’s wishing this country would be attacked again in order to make his point."
