The polls are wildly varying on President Trump's approval rating right now. One has him down 17 points, while another has him up ten. It's more likely our left-wing media will prefer the worst number. But maybe approval ratings are overrated by the power sniffers in Washington, trying to measure a president's mojo by their poll numbers.
He's doing better than they wanted, but that is often the case. We're running through some hot NewsBusters items.
Joseph Vasquez noted AP economics writer Christopher Rugaber published a story that contradicts the doom-saying coverage of the Trump economy. “The US economy is in a good place,” he wrote in his June 17 headline, conceding that “most economic data looks solid: Inflation has been steadily fading, while the unemployment rate is still a historically low 4.2%.”
They keep trying to damage Trump. Saturday’s nationally organized leftist “No Kings” protests against Trump were boosted as “massive.” Morning Joe co-host Jonathan Lemire gushed "The vast, vast majority of these ‘No Kings’ protests were very peaceful and the crowds were huge!”
The Washington Post front-page story on Sunday began like a press release for the protest organizers: "Americans turned out en masse in communities across the country Saturday, raucously pushing back on what they see as President Donald Trump’s widening authoritarianism, attacks on immigrants and deep cuts to scores of federal programs." Notice it's not "thousands of left-wing agitators turned out." The leftists are described as "Americans," like they represent something bigger than the leftist agitators.
Then there is the People's Republic of Late-Night Comedy. Alex Christy, our joke-counter, found that over the last year, CBS late-night host Taylor Tomlinson opened her game show with a monologue. Friday was her last original show. Alex found that 87 percent of the political jokes were about conservatives or Republicans. Taylor Not-So-Swift was most notorious for expressing her attraction to CEO murderer Luigi Mangione. That's just gross.
Our old colleague Gabriel Hays reported for FoxNews.com that a rock singer from the group Red Jumpsuit Apparatus -- a flash in the pan back in 2006 -- is insisting no Trump voters should buy tickets and come to their concerts. They can still book concert venues? So many rock stars are leftists of various degrees of intensity. Conservatives decide to just try and enjoy the music and ignore their pompous statements in between songs or in press interviews in between concerts.
We noted the Senate had a hearing today investigating the coverup of President Biden's mental decline, and guessed it wouldn't be covered on ABC, CBS, and NBC on Wednesday night. It wasn't. They did find time for "USDA recalls precooked chicken Alfredo from Walmart and Kroger due to listeria concerns."
