YouTube sat idle as Al Jazeera allowed to air Hamas brutes actively recruiting Muslims across the Middle East to attack Israel.
Ismail Haniyeh, the Qatari-based Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, called for the Hamas terror attacks to expand to Judea and Samaria and urged Muslims to join in their brutal assault against Jewish communities. He made the disturbing calls in a video statement prompted by the Qatari state-owned Al Jazeera on YouTube.
“This is the battle of not only the Palestinians or the Gazans, it is the battle of all the Arab and Muslim nations,” Haniyeh said according to Al Jazeera’s translation of his remark. “Simply for the reason that it is a battle for Palestine, it is a battle for Jerusalem.” Al Jazeera, which is notorious for its history of being pro-Hamas, did not provide any disclaimer on the video. It blatantly appears like an open recruiter ad for Hamas.
YouTube did not respond to MRC Free Speech America’s questions on the video, since the clip appeared to directly violate the company’s policy for violent extremists or criminal organizations policy. “Content intended to praise, promote, or aid violent extremist or criminal organizations is not allowed on YouTube,” the policy read. “These organizations are not allowed to use YouTube for any purpose, including recruitment.”
This reeks of hypocrisy. Notably, YouTube suspended Right Side Broadcasting Network in March 2021 simply for the non-offense of airing former President Donald Trump’s Conservative Political Action Conference Speech. However, Hamas, despite being designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department, can have its anti-Semitic screeds aired unrestricted.
The Hamas leader’s remarks echoed the terrorist pledge from Hamas founder Khaled Meshaal, who in similar statements to Reuters called on Muslims to eradicate Israel. “[We must] head to the squares and streets of the Arab and Islamic world on Friday,” Meshaal told Reuters. “Tribes of Jordan, sons of Jordan, brothers and sisters of Jordan… This is a moment of truth and the borders are close to you, you all know your responsibility.”
These calls to action follow the Oct. 7 barbaric onslaught by Hamas against Israel, which resulted in the tragic loss of at least 1,300 Israeli lives, including several Americans. According to witness accounts, Hamas terrorists raped women and beheaded children.
