Wow! No Labels is irking all the right (or is wrong?) people. Why? Because as MSNBC contributor and Dean of the [Bill?] Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas, Victoria DeFrancesco Soto worried on Monday's edition of MSNBC's Jose Diaz-Balart Reports, that group could jeopardize Joe Biden's re-election chances.
Soto's shtick is that America has a two party system and how dare a third party jeopardize the chances of the Democrats remaining in power.
Here is DeFrancesco Soto singing her No Labels sob song in reaction to Diaz-Balart observation about the new notoriety of that group now so feared by liberals.
DIAZ-BALART: And Victoria, Meanwhile, Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is set to appear today at a town hall hosted by the bipartisan group, No Labels. A lot of people are speculating of a potential third party presidential run. What do you make of that?
DeFRANCESCO SOTO: I’m going to wear my political scientist hat here. It’s — it’s — it’s maddening. Because institutionally, as a country, we’re set up to be a two party system. How we elect our representatives through single member districts, that really pushes us institutionally into two parties, and then layer on top of that just our culture as a country for hundreds of years, you would argue we’ve always been a two party system, even though the names of those parties have changed. So it’s really near impossible. I’m not going to say impossible. And what it ends up doing, though, however, is it hurts one of the major parties. At the moment, it looks like it would most likely hurt President Joe Biden and his reelection campaign. But let’s say for some reason, we see a moderate Republican win the GOP nomination, then it could potentially hurt them. So it doesn’t really have a clear path forward, but it just hurts the major party candidate.
Yeah, not likely that Clinton School dean Soto is really worried about how No Labels affects the electoral chances of Republicans, moderate or not, in a negative way. We all know that as a hardcore Democrat, her only obsession is with a Joe Manchin or another third-party spoiler becoming the 2000 Ralph Nader or 2016 Jill Stein and ruin the re-election bid of her beloved Biden.
