I bet he’d still have his job if he wrote “xe/xer.”
Over in Jacksonville, Florida, a password management company asked its employees to share their pronouns on a business messaging app called "Slack." Software engineer, Chad Scharf, responded by claiming his pronouns were “Assigned by God.” Later, he was fired according to "CatholicVote."
When asked to indicate his “preferred pronouns,” Scharf was unwilling to differ from his Catholic beliefs that are based on the Bible’s declaration of gender …of which there are only two. Considering how there are only two genders, it was silly for Scharf to indicate how he wanted to be addressed since he always was and always would be a boy. When he indicated that his pronouns were “Assigned by God,” his intent was, one, to point out that they were, and two, to sort of opt-out of the LGBTQ schema of “gender identity,” as CatholicVote indicated.
“Leaving it blank was, for me, acquiescing to it. Putting your head in the sand and ignoring it,” Scharf told CatholicVote. “It was three or four months later, I got a call from HR asking me to remove it. There were no complaints, but she felt that it ‘didn’t sit right.’”
Good Lord! This is so ridiculous. The left can push "pride" and “inclusivity” down people’s throats, but the second someone respectfully acknowledges a differing view or their religious convictions, boom, they’re the bigot. Our world’s got this all sorts of twisted!
A year later, the situation came up again, Scharf noted. Supposedly he was told that he had to take the “Assigned by God” “pronouns” down in order to keep his job. After refusing, he was fired despite having a “stellar” employment record and after “never [having] any negative feedback regarding his job performance or interpersonal relations with his colleagues.”
Seemingly justified in his actions, Scharf filed a lawsuit this past May against Bitwarden for allegedly violating his Title VII rights against religious discrimination.
The lawsuit states:
This has been a Catholic doctrine for over two thousand years… Mr. Scharf’s religious beliefs are that there are only two sexes and that gender cannot be changed, chosen, or manipulated. When pressured by the company to add pronouns to his Slack profile, he chose those in conformity with his religious belief: ‘Assigned by God.’
It’s pretty obvious what happened with Scharf’s place of employment. Most likely, they didn’t like that he wasn’t singing the praises of the leftist, woke agenda so, they fired him.
In a statement, Scharf’s attorney Jennifer Vasquez explained how ridiculous the whole situation was and how legally, Scharf’s place of emplyoment was out of line.
“Per the Supreme Court, religious beliefs are not merely to be tolerated but must receive ‘favored treatment’ in the workplace," Vasquez said. "One employee’s feeling offended, harassed, or unsafe just because another employee has stated his religious beliefs does not overcome these legal protections.”
Straight facts.
It’s getting ridiculous what these leftist entities are willing to do to “protect” wokeism and these progressive ideologies. Time will tell what happens with Scharf and his lawsuit, but hopefully, his ex-employer understands where they effed up.
