Tuesday afternoon before the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability, our friend Julio Rosas at Townhall found himself subject to a meltdown from Congressman and former MSNBC pundit Daniel Goldman (D-NY) because he testified to the disturbing record of far-left violence across the country.
But, in a now viral response, Rosas torched Goldman’s liberal elitism. On Wednesday night, he joined the Fox News Channel and Newsmax to talk about it.
For the uninitiated, Goldman pitched this hissy fit over Rosas testimony and work about Antifa and other far-left miscreants:
So, Mr. Rosas, apparently the expert now in organized terrorist activity has overruled the FBI director who says — there is a headline that says, “Antifa is an ideology not an organization.” No, no, no. Let’s not listen to the FBI director. Let’s listen to — sorry — what’s your — your title — senior writer at Townhall, who is going to tell us that the FBI director is wrong.
A few minutes later, Rosas responded to Goldman’s elitism smear:
I think it’s funny to be — to be lectured by an heir to the Levi Strauss Corporation, and that honestly, that’s probably why he doesn’t consider property damage to be that big of a deal, because not only does he have that, but he also has what some would describe an impossibly good stock portfolio, but what I can tell you is that in these riots that happened three years ago, they — yes, big corporations did suffer damage and looting such as Target that would happen in Minneapolis, but a lot of the businesses, they were small businesses. They didn’t come from multi-million dollar families or corporations.
Hosting this week’s Fox News Tonight, Will Cain noted “the contempt” from Goldman and how Rosas’s dangerous work in places like Kenosha never “matter[ed] to Dan Goldman,” whose only credential is” being “an heir to the Levi Strauss fortune” and thus could fund his election “in one of the wealthiest congressional districts in the country.”
Worse yet in Goldman’s eyes, Cain added, Rosas dared to disagree with “the unimpeachable opinion of the FBI.”
For his part, Rosas didn’t mince words, telling Cain it was “the epitome” of what “people have come to realize what Washington is, and it’s full of elitist pricks.”
“What’s happening is that it was — ‘I’m a politician. I know better than you, despite the fact that you were at all of these places, and also, the FBI knows more than you do’...I actually earn my paycheck and I think I earned it pretty well back in 2020 covering all of those different riots,” he explained.
Rosas emphasized he doesn’t “cover finance...but again, look...point of the hearing was to talk about the far-left violence and there are big problems with that and there could be more problems in the future.”
Rosas appeared in the hour prior on Newsmax during Rob Schmitt Tonight. Rosas said Goldman’s behavior was “comical” given the fact that he was “this white, ultra-rich guy, who literally represents Wall Street, talking down to a Latino who comes from a working class family” along with the fact that he’s not an actual member of that subcomittee.
Therefore, as Rosas explained, Goldman chose to “take time out of his day to stop by and give his little performance,” and thus he surmised something was coming.
“[The left doesn’t] take any of this seriously and it’s sort of fortunate because we were talking about far-left violence, and I wasn't brought to the committee because of my title. I was brought...because of the work I did...I wasn't just some Beltway journalists that hasn't left the office or his house, or you know his couch,” he added.
