On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal published a bombshell report that the United States Energy Department under President Joe Biden concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China. While this may be news to some Americans, conservatives have believed this was the most likely cause of the pandemic for the past three years. During this time, they were ridiculed, lectured to, and even censored on social media by the big tech tyrants. During their coverage of the revelations, NBC Nightly News was the only one of the three evening news broadcasts to note how conservatives feel frustrated for their mistreatment for being the only ones to acknowledge reality.
"It is perhaps the most critical unanswered question about the pandemic. How did it begin? Now a stunning new assessment from the Department of Energy points to an accidental leak at a Chinese lab as the most likely cause," anchor Lester Holt proclaimed in his opening before handing the segment off to senior White House correspondent Kelly O'Donnell.
During her report, O'Donnell made a tactful acknowledgment of the reality that conservatives were right all along and feel frustrated over the revelations and that they were mistreated for no reason. "The development frustrates many conservatives who say they were vilified when former President Trump and others spoke up backing the lab leak theory," O'Donnell noted.
One of the prominent conservatives giving voice to the frustration was Arizona Republican Congressman Andy Biggs who during an interview on Fox News said that "people like me, we were completely shut down, called conspiracy theorists, and had our reputations attacked and savaged."
Not resting on their laurels, O'Donnell reported that "Republican lawmakers [have] sent letters demanding information on COVID origins and the Chinese Communist Party's role in obscuring the truth."
ABC's World News Tonight and CBS Evening News, during their reports, ignored the fact that conservatives were right all along about the lab leak.
