With the liberal media unable to turn Hurricane Ian into a Hurricane Katrina moment against Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, the desperate cackling coven of ABC’s The View took to projection on Thursday and mocked DeSantis for being unable to use the disaster for political proposes. Of course, this was divorced from reality as DeSantis had put politics aside and worked with the Biden administration long before landfall to prepare the state and is now working on the recovery.
After playing soundbites of DeSantis and President Biden touting how they’ve been able to work together, Whoopi Goldberg took to only praising Biden for their civil discourse. “That's the beauty of a president,” she said. “You know. When there's a disaster, you know, you work together because whether you voted for him or not, he's still the president and he's supposed to take care of the country.”
Pivoting to DeSantis, Goldberg falsely asserted that “before the disaster” he “didn't have very nice things to say about Biden.” This is provably false because before Ian made landfall The View lashed out at DeSantis for thanking Biden for helping Florida.
“What choice does he have,” she said on Thursday. Putting fictional words in his mouth, Goldberg mocked how he might have sounded attacking Biden for helping:
You can't stand there while the man is standing there and say, “I hate what they did. They gave us all this money and we didn't want it. We didn't want that damn money. We could have done our[selves].” He can't do that.
“He's got no choice,” touted self-describe Republican Ana Navarro. She went on to boast that “yes, you need” to suck up to “Daddy Biden” because “he's the one that's got FEMA. He's the one that's got the big bucks. He’s the one that’s got the Army Corps of Engineers and the people of Florida need help.”
With a more insidious reaction to DeSantis’s effective leadership, Sunny Hostin admitted she feared his intelligence because it meant his “cruelty” was intentional:
When you look at DeSantis, he graduated from Yale University, he went to Harvard Law School, he earned a commission in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer. He was a federal prosecutor who did what I did, where he targeted and convicted child predators. He still serves in the United States Reserve. So, what that tells me is he's brilliant and the cruelty is the point when he's sending immigrants all over the place and not taking care of them. And that scares me.
The only person to really give credit to DeSantis was self-proclaimed “Republican” Alyssa Farah Griffin who rattled off a list of his accomplishments. “So far, he helped oversee the rebuilding of Pine Island’s bridge within three days. He activated the Florida small business emergency bridge loan program, which basically makes $50 million available to small businesses. He set up food centers all over the state,” she said.
But she had to ruin it with an asinine comment suggesting he might be thinking of turning things over to his campaign staff. “I said it before. I hope he doesn't call his political advisers. I hope he focuses on the recovery because so far it's going fairly smoothly, and the people need relief,” she added.
The positive notations about DeSantis seemed to trigger Navarro, who started shrieking: “Well, I hope he leaves the drag queens alone. I hope he leaves Disney alone. I hope he leaves Mickey Mouse alone. I hope he leaves the immigrants alone. And I hope he focuses on helping the people in need.”
Perhaps the ladies of The View are upset that DeSantis is up 11 points over Democratic challenger Charlie Crist in Florida’s gubernatorial election, according to the latest Mason-Dixon poll, despite all the work they did trying to prop up Crist by having him come on the show.

I firmly believe that President Trump is just not the smartest guy. I really -- I think he's educated, but I just don't think he's that smart. And I think he's a racist, and I think he's a homophobe, and he was just a person who was raised that way.
