Reports of Florida federal judge Aileen Cannon granting Donald Trump's request for a special master to oversee the documents seized by the FBI at Mar-a-Lago was enough to send the Univision's morning news team into a TDS frenzy on Tuesday.
“To authorize one investigation and block another”; is how anchor Elyangelica Gonzalez, from Despierta America, framed the report, which centered more on “what the former president expected happened, didn't it?”, than on the facts regarding the judge's order; one that in the words of D.C. correspondent Edwin Pitti, few believe “will ultimately change the decision because the Department of Justice has a lot of evidence.”

PITTI: At this time, the Department of Justice is just saying that they continue to analyze the judge's opinion and will make a decision on the next steps.

Univision didn’t even bother to conceal their outrage at the fact that the Bad Orange Man got what he wanted. Nor did they care about the concept of presumption of innocence. Take Pitti's comment that “48 folders marked as classified that were completely empty,” that left a question mark on whether the folders were empty or emptied, and González saying “[t]he Department of Justice can now investigate whether such materials threaten national security.”
Yet, while doing their best to trash Trump, the reporters aired a clip of President Biden giving a speech over the weekend that showcased his unhealthy obsession with his predecessor and his role as divider-in-chief.
“Trump and the MAGA Republicans made their choice. We can choose to build a better America or we can continue down this slimy path to oblivion where we don't want to go,” Biden said angrily about the slimy path to oblivion where HE, and only he, is taking the nation.
