Hostin: Black/Latino Republicans Are an 'Oxymoron,' 'I Don't Understand'

Racism was once again on full display during Friday’s edition of The View as co-host and vile human Sunny Hostin accused black and Latino Republicans of being race traitors for their political beliefs that contradict hers. But guest co-host and black Republican Lindsey Granger was on hand to confront her ridiculousness and called her out for not even knowing herself.

The fireworks started during a conversation about newly named White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Granger was concerned about a conflict of interest since Jean-Pierre’s partner works for CNN, citing other instances of CNN’s conflicts of interest aiding Democrats (Donna Brazile leaking debate questions to Hillary Clinton and the Cuomo debacle).

This obviously didn’t sit well with co-host and CNN hack Ana Navarro (who says she’s a Republican). Being that she works at CNN, Navarro flung the only insult she could think of and called Granger a Trump supporter. “I know this may be a novel point, a novel idea for someone who’s a supporter of Trump, but there are people being capable of being related and having ethical interests,” she sneered.

Granger put Navarro in her place by noting she wasn’t a Trump supporter and she’s “a black woman first.” “But I do say that I have many conservative values that I will talk to you about. And so, if you at your network that you’re standing behind--” she began to say before Hostin interrupted with her bewilderment.

“Are you a Republican,” Hostin asked in honest surprise, as if they snuck a conservative on the set under her nose. And after Granger confirmed her party affiliation, Hostin lashed out:

HOSTIN: I feel like that's an oxymoron, a black Republican.

JOY BEHAR: Ohhh.

GRANGER: You feel like it’s an oxymoron?

HOSTIN: I do.

GRANGER: Why? Your friend right here is a Republican. [Points to Navarro]

“I don't understand either of you,” Hostin chided as Granger called out Hostin’s own oxymoronic beliefs in being a Catholic and pro-abortion.

Hostin took on her usual cowardly physicality of arguing by looking off into the distance and not the person she’s talking to (fiddling with her ear piece while she did it) as the argument persisted:

GRANGER: You don't understand yourself then. You have disagreements

HOSTIN: I understand myself. I don't understand either of you. I don’t.

GRANGER: But it's not a personal conversation. We're having a personal conversation about CNN and how things can get leaked.

“I don’t understand black Republicans and I don't understand Latino Republicans,” Hostin decried both Granger and Navarro. And instead of defending herself, Navarro tried to get them back to talking about Jean-Pierre.

Navarro’s performance drew this reaction from MRC Latino director Jorge Bonilla:

This is far from the first time The View has called black Republicans race traitors. Back in January, Hostin attacked Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas by saying he “doesn’t represent the black community” and Behar used air quotes to describe him as “a black guy, a black man.”

And Navarro did the same thing in April when she lashed out at Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) for voting “No” on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court. “Listen, when Marco Rubio's parents got to Florida, it used to say ‘no blacks, no dogs, no Cubans.’ I'm so sorry he seems to have forgotten that,” she sneered.

These racist smears of black and Latino Republicans were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ensure and Olay. Their contact information is linked.

ANA NAVARRO: I know this may be a novel point, a novel idea for someone who’s a supporter of Trump, but there are people being capable of being related and having ethical interests.

LINDSEY GRANGER: When have I ever said I was a supporter of Trump? There are many things that I don’t stand by that Trump did. Trump has done things that are racist. I'm a black woman first. So, always understand that. But I do say that I have many conservative values that I will talk to you about. And so, if you at your network that you’re standing behind--

SUNNY HOSTIN: Are you a Republican?

GRANGER: Yes. And when you look at your network that you’re standing behind, you’re saying that you look at Chris Cuomo --

HOSTIN: I feel like that's an oxymoron, a black Republican.

JOY BEHAR: Ohhh.

GRANGER: You feel like it’s an oxymoron?

HOSTIN: I do.

GRANGER: Why? Your friend right here is a Republican. [Points to Navarro]

NAVARRO: We have had this conversation many times.

GRANGER: And you said you feel like it’s an oxymoron that you're Catholic, but you’re also pro-life.

HOSTIN: I don't understand either of you.

GRANGER: You don't understand yourself then. You have disagreements

HOSTIN: I understand myself. I don't understand either of you. I don’t.

GRANGER: But it's not a personal conversation. We're having a personal conversation about CNN and how things can get leaked.

HOSTIN: I don’t understand black Republicans and I don't understand Latino Republicans.

[Crosstalk]

NAVARRO: Today this is not about me and it's not about you. It's about celebrating Karine Jean-Pierre and the history she’s making.

HOSTIN: That’s true.

BEHAR: And we will be right back.
