It’s Episode 25 of CensorTrack with TR. This week we’re talking about a study that MRC’s Free Speech America team recently conducted. Results showed that from March 2020 to Feb. 2022, Big Tech censored more than 808 COVID-19-related posts.
The study focused on biased censorship regarding COVID-19 rather than mere warning labels slapped on nearly every post that mentions COVID-19, vaccines, natural immunity or CDC protocols.
Over 41 doctors, scientists, medical and science groups experienced COVID-19-related censorship. Twitter banned Dr. Robert Malone over supposed “misinformation” despite his advanced experience in COVID-19 vaccines. Malone was an innovator of the mRNA technology used in the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. Apparently Big Tech knows more than him.
We also found that over 70 media personalities were censored for COVID-19-related posts. Prominent figures like conservative radio hosts Dan Bongino and Mark Levin, podcaster Joe Rogan, Fox News host Tucker Carlson and podcaster and former OAN host Liz Wheeler withstood everything from fact-checks to permanent suspensions due to their COVID-19-related content.
Twenty-one news outlets endured COVID-19-related censorship. Big Tech censored Fox News, Reason magazine, Just the News, and Sky News Australia, exemplifying Silicon Valley’s motive to censor news angles that don’t fit the leftist narrative.
Within our nearly two-year time frame of COVID-19-related content, social media platforms censored seven members of Congress. This significantly impacts elected officials’ reach because social media is a prominent form of communication with constituents, and censorship limits that opportunity.
The 808 cases of restrictions, suspensions and fact-checks regarding COVID-19 limit the information that users need to make informed decisions about their bodies when it comes to the virus. But Big Tech’s authoritarian crackdown on any speech that contradicts leftist thought is apparently more meaningful to society’s technocrats.
