CNN and Sellers Push Michelle Obama Ad, Decry 'Level of Malaise' -- Under Democrat Rule

John Berman Brianna Keilar Bakari Sellers CNN New Day 1-10-22"For More Malaise, Vote Democrat 2022!"

That could go down as the worst political slogan ever. But bizarrely, Democrats seem to have adopted "America in malaise" as a central theme of their political marketing plan.

Kamala Harris, channeling Jimmy Carter at his nadir, kicked off the gloom 'n doom in an interview with Judy Woodruff on PBS over the weekend. Kamala claimed there was a "level of malaise" in America...under Democrats. Has anyone considered might not exactly reflect well on the party's accomplishments while controlling the levers of power?

And then this morning, Democrat flack Bakari Sellers, a former South Carolina elected state official who doubles as a CNN political commentator, also employed the m-word, speaking of:

"The malaise we’re in now with the resurgence of the virus, inflation, et cetera."

Surprisingly, the malaise-in-America talk came during a CNN segment shamelessly flacking for Michelle Obama's newly-announced drive to register voters. Well, a certain kind of voters.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar announced the former First Lady has a new advertisement claiming "We’ve got to vote like the future of our democracy depends on it." She added "Mrs. Obama and her voting rights organization, When We All Vote, called on Americans to continue engaging in democracy amid a historic attack on voting rights."

Sellers reflected the Democrat-media complex arrogance that they represent "democracy" and anyone who opposed their grand socialist schemes and voter-ID-abolishing bills is not.

[O]ne of the things that Democrats are trying to figure out, and most people who find themselves on the side of democracy, is how they're going to overcome some of the obstruction we have in our own party from Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, and how we're going to make progress when you don’t have changes, when you don't have any adaptations to the voting rights law.

Are the Dems really trying to push Manchin into the waiting arms of Mitch McConnell?

Sellers was bizarrely trying to claim that the appeal of the Obamas is bipartisan.

When Barack Obama and Michelle Obama speak, especially after the last four years of Donald Trump, and kind of the malaise that we’re in now with the resurgence of the virus, inflation, et cetera, then Barack Obama and Michelle Obama cut through that. And we all know that Michelle Obama is the most popular Obama anyway.

CNN Democrat Bakari Sellers echoing Kamala Harris in saying that America is in "malaise," was sponsored in part by Celebrity CruisesJenny Craig, and Liberty Mutual.

BRIANNA KEILAR: Former First Lady Michelle Obama has a message for Americans ahead of this year’s midterm elections: "We’ve got to vote like the future of our democracy depends on it." That is what she's saying in a letter titled “fight for our vote.” This was published as an ad in the New York Times.

Mrs. Obama and her voting rights organization, When We All Vote, called on Americans to continue engaging in democracy amid a historic attack on voting rights.

And joining us now to talk about this is Bakari Sellers, CNN political commentator. Bakari, bringing in the big guns here, Michelle Obama, what does this signify to you?

BAKARI SELLERS: Well, it’s necessary. And one of the things that Democrats are trying to figure out, and most people who find themselves on the side of democracy, is how they're going to overcome some of the obstruction we have in our own party from Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, and how we're going to make progress when you don’t have changes, when you don't have any adaptations to the voting rights law.

And so one of the things the former First Lady says, which many people are saying, is it takes action. And that action means we have to register voters.

Listen, this cuts across party lines.
