Last year, conservative Senators like Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz were slammed for pushing a "fringe theory" that COVID-19 leaked from a Wuhan lab. Now, suddenly, the media have decided that's not fringy or crazy any more. First, PolitiFact quietly reversed a "Pants on Fire" rating for Tucker Carlson for putting on a Chinese scientist to discuss a potential lab leak. Now it's gone from nonsensical to sensible.
Now Washington Post "Fact Checker" Glenn Kessler -- and other media outlets -- are rushing to suggest it's time for the international community to investigate how the virus may have escaped the Wuhan lab. Kessler even suggested Tom Cotton might end up looking good in the history books. It's fascinating that they had no interest in probing this theory while Donald Trump was still president.
Joseph Vazquez from MRC Business joins the show to discuss a new "AP Fact Check" that claims it's misleading for the Republicans to blame Joe Biden for rising gas prices. The "fact checkers" don't want anyone to blame Biden for anything.
