Texas doesn’t want Marxists messing with its history, so it’s taking legislative steps to make sure its schools aren’t infected by noxious critical race theory. In retaliation, and in order to generate the outrage necessary to keep the poisonous ideology afloat, far left news outlets are now dishonestly referring to the state’s efforts as an attempt to “ban teaching [the] history of slavery” altogether.
It’s a page from the playbook used to smear the Texas voting integrity act: lie about the bill’s content and shriek racism accusations at its proponents.
Very sneaky, guys.
Several major lefty outlets obfuscated the truth about Texas’ anti-CRT school bill, couching it as some white supremacist plot to deny the truth of America’s slaveholding past, when in reality this was to protect against the institutionalization of anti-white, anti-American propaganda critical race theories in the classroom. The libs’ preferred historical curricula re-imagines American history as being solely motivated and sculpted by Americans’ desire to keep slaves.
For example, the flagship vehicle for this idea is the infamous “1619 Project,” a newfangled bit of pop history from The New York Times that sees America’s real founding as the moment that the first slaves were brought to the new world, and views the country’s entire subsequent history in that racial lens. Essentially America is a fundamentally racist country today, just as it was founded.
Of course, this rewriting of history is problematic for a variety of reasons. Red state governors including Governor DeSantis (R-FL) want to ban it in their public schools as it encourages kids to have racial resentment and become cynical toward the freedom-preserving institutions of the country.
But for the media, derailing such a transformative bit of propaganda was not going to fly, so MSNBC, Huffington Post, and The New York Times took aim at Texas’ actions and accused the state of denying real history forthright.
Inquiremore.com snagged a screenshot of NYT’s dishonest headline which claimed, “Texas Eyes Laws to Limit Teaching Slavery in Classroom.” Well to be fair, it is to be expected that the same outlet that published the “1619 Project” would be shocked that someone doesn’t only see American history through the prism of slavery. Though we know this is a cynical strategy to protect their own BS intellectual property.
Huffington Post senior political writer Jennifer Bendery tweeted out her article about the Texas senate signing the bill, and captioned it with her own misleading opinion. She wrote, “In the dead of night, the Texas Senate passed a bill that will effectively ban public school teachers from talking about racism, white supremacy or current events. It already passed the House. On its way to be signed into law now.”

In the dead of night, the Texas Senate passed a bill that will effectively ban public school teachers from talking about racism, white supremacy or current events.
It already passed the House. On its way to be signed into law now. https://t.co/fUFNeHVQP0
So in Bendery’s mendacious opinion, schools never taught anyone about racism or slavery before. That’s super fair. Well of course not and she knows exactly what she’s doing. She won’t rest until American history portrays America as a white supremacist nation through and through.
And another headline from MSNBC program The Beat with Ari Melber, stated, “GOP pushing bill to ban teaching of history.”
This tactic didn’t work in Georgia, where Stacy Abrams et al only managed to bully some cowardly corporations into harming the state’s economy. And it certainly won’t work in Texas.
