What's next: "f---ing a------e?"
On today's Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski called Donald Trump a "freaking nut." What prompted Mika to use a variation on the F-word to describe the President of the United States? That he had the audacity, via tweets, to defend himself and his administration.
Brzezinski's F-fluent exclamation came as Joe Scarborough referred to a number of tweets that President Trump made over the weekend. For example, Scarborough mentioned Trump's tweet about "Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd." What Scarborough did not mention was the substance of the president's tweet about Todd.
The Meet the Press host, as our Kristine Marsh has noted, deceptively edited and aired a clip of Attorney General Bill Barr. In the version Todd offered, Barr, responding to a question as to how history would judge the move to dismiss charges against Michael Flynn, says: "Well, history is written by the winners, so it largely depends on who's writing the history."
Todd, in turn, said that he was "struck by the cynicism of the answer."
But Todd had cut from the clip Barr's following remark: "I think a fair history would say it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law; it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice."
So, should President Trump sit back at let the liberal media attack him and his administration, distort and misrepresent their words, and not defend himself and his aides? Sorry, Mika: that's not going to happen. This is a president who doesn't take the slurs of the liberal media lying down.
Note also that Scarborough managed to once again work in some humble-bragging. Last week, when President Trump tweeted about Joe, Scarborough said, "how much lower can you go than that, if you’re worried about me?" Even though the tweet was a week old by this morning, Scarborough again dragged it in, saying, "Last week, he attacked me! And I mean, my God, you’ve got to be in sad shape if you’re focused on me in the middle of a pandemic."
So self-deprecating, that Joe!
