It's not just Mayor Pete, Amy Klobuchar, and Beto who have climbed on the Biden bandwagon. Morning Joe has jumped on there, too.
Just two weeks ago, Joe Scarborough was penning what amounted to a political eulogy for Biden.
Today, the show was portraying Biden as a virtual goliath. Leading the pack was Mike Barnicle, who claimed that in the free media that followed his South Carolina win, Biden:
"looked like an ordinary empathetic, humble, compassionate human being. A striking contrast to the President of the United States."
Biden "humble"—really? The guy:
- who lied about his academic credentials, including claiming that he finished in the top half of his law school class, whereas he finished 76th in a class of 85?
- who during the '88 race bragged that his IQ was much higher than that of a voter?
- who pulled the same stunt just two months ago, challenging a voter to an IQ test?
- who has a history of challenging people to push-up contests?
- who bragged he would "beat the hell" out of Trump if they were back in school?
- who just last week falsely bragged that he had been arrested in South Africa on way to visit Nelson Mandela.
- who during debates tried to take credit for virtually everything that ever happened during the last 40 years in American politics?
Granted, we can understand why plagiarizing Mike Barnicle would have an affinity for Joe Biden, who was forced out of his first presidential race in 1987 for plagiarizing speeches by a left-wing British politicians. It's always worth sharing again a walk down Memory Lane of Biden's alleged humility back then:
"Humble?" True, Biden has plenty to be humble about. But the reality is that Biden is a vainglorious, hair-sniffing gaffe machine. And "losing a step" doesn't come close to describing him. If Biden had started the NFL combine's 40-yard dash yesterday, he'd still be running this morning.
Here's the transcript.

Morning Joe
3/3/20
6:12 am ETMIKE BARNICLE: Suddenly, after Saturday in South Carolina, it was as if Joe Biden had made his entry into the presidential race. Massive amounts of free media that he got on Saturday, Sunday, yesterday, and including this morning. Free media. And what happened in that free media?
Joe Biden looked like an ordinary empathetic, humble, compassionate human being. A striking contrast to the President of the United States. And I think a lot of people paid attention to it. They saw him. They like him. They liked him anyway, and they liked him even more after they see him in these settings. So what happens today? Nobody knows what’s going to happen today. But I would expect he would have a much, much, much better day today than he ever dreamed of having last Friday.
