Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was fawned over by the hosts of The View Thursday, who all were smitten with the presidential candidate’s performance during last night’s democratic debate. While Joy Behar gave the candidate high marks, she couldn’t help but be miffed by Warren going after fellow Democrat Michael Bloomberg, saying she should’ve “gone after Trump more.”
Welcoming Warren to the show through a Skype satellite interview, co-host Whoopi Goldberg touted the Democrat “pulling no punches” during the debate and gave her a moment to revel in her successful performance. Meghan McCain also was friendly towards the Democrat, commiserating with her about how much she hated Bloomberg and giving her the opportunity to claim the media was biased for Bloomberg:
First of all, congratulations last night. I really enjoyed watching you. I really enjoyed watching you rip out Mayor Bloomberg's jugular...The time Trump came up last night is when you compared him to saying that Democrats aren't going to win the nomination if they have a history of harassing women, I think this is an incredibly strong point. He has a history of misogynistic and racially charged comments over a long period of time and I believe the media has given him a huge pass on this. I think it's very confusing for Democrats. Why do you think the media seems to want to give Bloomberg a pass until you rightfully so, called him out last night?
Co-host Sunny Hostin also gave Warren free publicity to attack Bloomberg over stop and frisk. McCain did bookend her fangirl question with a tepid question at the very end of the interview, asking if Warren was “too progressive” for most Americans.
However, Joy Behar seemed to be the only liberal host who didn’t like the Democrats attacking each other. She called Warren out for not attacking Trump more: "You were very impressive last night, very forceful, but my question is -- oh here. My question is, was it misdirected a little by going after fellow Democrats and not going after Trump, or were you trying to go after Bloomberg sort of like by proxy to get to Trump? What were you doing there?" she demanded to know.
As Warren explained that a clear frontrunner needed to be made apparent, Behar still wasn’t satisfied at the minimal amount of Trump bashing. “Well why not go after Trump more?” she begged.
After the interview, Behar was still grumbling at her own party as “judgemental Democrats”:
Bloomberg tanked for sure. I think he will be better in a debate with Trump than he is with a bunch of judgmental Democrats which I was watching last night because then it's racist against racist, sexist against sexist, rogue against rogue. It's very hard for them to go after each other because they're both guilty about the same things. So Maybe then we can have a conversation about climate change, about immigration, about foreign affairs, about gun safety.
