In case you were wondering, journalists are already excited over what ex-FBI Director James Comey will say in his upcoming memoir. Though it won’t be out until May of 2018, the co-hosts of CBS This Morning gushed over the release... of the title, A Higher Loyalty. Co-host Norah O’Donnell enthused, “Something tells me that's going to be a good book!”
Co-host Gayle King was practically beside herself and begged Comey to come on the show: “The book is due out in May and who's going to get that interview? Shall we extend an invitation right now, Mr. Comey?”
If the hosts at CBS can land it, one can assume this probably won't be a tough interview. King explained, “We’re getting a first look this morning at fired-FBI Director James Comey’s new memoir. It’s called A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.”
In case members of the audience were too dense to get the self-important title, O’Donnell repeated, “Remember, the President demanded loyalty from James Comey. And so, the book is called A Higher Loyalty.”
Get it, everyone? A higher loyalty. As to why the book would be so great, she cheered, “Because he took notes. You know, as he's already testified on Capitol Hill. He took notes about his conversations with the President.”
CBS was equally excited when Comey testified before Congress in June. The show’s hosts hyped it as “historic,” “history and something that could shape U.S. “history.”
