Desperate for attention, far-left comedienne Kathy Griffin and equally liberal attorney Lisa Bloom wasted everyone’s time on Friday afternoon while the two commiserated over Griffin losing her CNN job, losing comedy gigs, and generally being embarrassed for posting a photo with a bloodied, fake, severed head of President Trump.
Instead of accepting responsibility and the consequences, the pair took a childish route, suggesting that Griffin was the one being bullied and the victim of “censorship” by CNN for being fired as co-host of the New Year’s Eve coverage.
“It’s sad. It’s so hurtful to me,” a bawling Griffin told a reporter when asked what she thought of CNN firing her. Bloom also stepped in to lash out at the network: “It’s censorship is what it is. I’ll say it more bluntly. She’s worked there for 10 years. It was the best thing about the New Year’s Eve.”
But wait, there’s more! Griffin continued digging a proverbial hole, making excuses for her channeling of ISIS by blasting CNN: “It’s a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me and I’m just here to say that’s wrong. You don’t have to like me, but you shouldn’t silence a comic.”
Besides the faux complaints about CNN’s decision to fire her, arguably the most viral moment of the press conference was when Griffin sobbed uncontrollably, claiming that Trump “broke me”:
I don’t think I will have a career after this. I think he — I think he — I think he — I’m going to be honest. He broke me. He broke me. He broke me. And then I was like, no this isn’t right. It’s just not right and I apologized because I knew it was the right thing to do and I meant it and then I saw the tide turning and I saw what they were doing and I went, oh, they’re trying to spin this, so they’re making it about Barron and obviously, that was never my intention. I would never want to hurt anyone, much less a child. But I started to see what was really happening and then it was a mob mentality, pile on and so many people have expressed to me, across country at my shows, they’re scared. So, yeah, I don’t know what’s — I don’t know what’s — I don’t know. But I have to stand up.
Bloom added that “Ted Turner would never have” fired Griffin if he still ran CNN while moments later, Griffin became even more emotional. She shrugged "no" when another reporter wondered if she had spoken to AC360 host, fellow New Year’s Eve co-host and friend Anderson Cooper, since the controversy arose on Tuesday.
To further show she lacked any class, she corroborated a reporter’s question about if she thought it was acceptable for children like Barron Trump to be attacked: “I think a comic should be able to make fun of everybody...I make fun of everybody in my acts.” Good luck finding hoardes of people that agree with that sentiment.
Bloom also jumped in on this subject, ruling that the reported horror Barron showed upon seeing the photo was a lie: “Well, allegedly. We don’t know that. You’re assuming that everything the Trumps say is true and, in fact, we know that many of the things that the Trumps say are false.”
For over 30 minutes, the lunacy was flowing. It started nearly from the get-go when Bloom claimed that Griffin had only held up a “Trump mask.” I have three words to describe this claim: Pants on fire.
“It was a parody of Trump's own sexist remarks taken to an extreme, absurdist visual. Like many edge works of artistic expression, the photo could be interpreted different ways and Kathy was fine with that. But Kathy never imagined that it could be misinterpreted as a threat of violence against Trump. That was never what she intended,” claimed Bloom.
Supposedly being a champion for all women, Bloom lashed out at First Lady Melania Trump for not fighting her husband on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) but also the whole family:
Kathy has endured the most powerful man in America and his family, using their power to target her and her employers after she apologized. The President took a break from his business schedule of tweeting nonsense words, to target her satire.
Having not heard of people like Elizabeth Lauten, Bloom ruled that “the message is clear” in that if you “criticize the President, you lose your job and that’s what happened to Kathy and more as a result of the First Family’s bullying of her and of those she does business with.”

Kathy has been vilified. She’s been receiving a lot of death threats. She’s had her personal website and her social media channels shut down, been fired from multiple jobs, and had multiple events cancelled. The Secret Service has reached out to her. The Secret Service has reached out to the a comedian. She has had to retain a criminal attorney who is here today.

For the first time in history that we are aware of, the President of the United States and his family is personally attempting to ruin a comedian. This has been a living nightmare for Kathy. She works hard and she has millions of global fans, including me, but she lacks a TV network or a giant team behind her and she has been suffering through this virtually alone as every kind of vile threat has poured in.
Using Bloom’s suggestion that what she did was protected speech, Griffin exclaimed that she was “not afraid” of “bully” Donald Trump.
Griffin also made an attempt to emphasize that her apology “absolutely stands,” but nonetheless felt attacked:
But I just wanted to say, you know, if you don’t stand up, you get run over and what’s happening to me has never happened ever in the history of this great country, which is that a sitting President of the United States and his grown children and the First Lady are personally, I feel, personally trying to ruin my life forever. Forever. You guys know him. He’s never going to stop. I know him...I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.
Bloom interrupted Griffin repeatedly to bolster her self-centered personality, including the outlandish assertion that it was “so unpresidential” for the Secret Service to be investigating Griffin’s outlandish photo.
Concerning those outraged by the photo depicting a beheaded President, Griffin dismissed those folks (including, you, the loyal NewsBusters readers) as fake “bots”: “My impression is that they have mobilized their armies of their bots or whatever they do. I — like I said, it’s quite clear to me that they’re trying to use me a distraction and I’m not going to be collateral damage for this fool.”
