On Wednesday night, our friends at The Right Scoop chronicled conservative talk radio host and CRTV personality Mark Levin ripping into former Obama Administration official Evelyn Farkas and the liberal media for censoring Farkas’s “smoking gun” admission that the Trump team were in fact surveilled.
“This is amazing to me. Is it not amazing to you, Mr. Producer? This is stunning to me. This is an Obama Administration official. This is everything I’ve said and we also know....Ladies and gentlemen, do we or do we not need to get to the bottom of the Obama Administration’s use of intelligence agencies,” Levin explained.
For those that need a refresher or haven’t seen what Farkas let slip, here’s what she told MSNBC’s Morning Joe on March 2 [emphasis mine]:
Well, I was urging my former colleagues, and — and frankly speaking, the people on the Hill, it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left, so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy — that the Trump folks — if they found out how we knew what we knew about their — the staff — Trump staff dealing with Russians — that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence. So, I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more. We have very good intelligence on Russia, so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were trying to also help get information to the Hill.
She added that “people are worried” about the Russia investigations and the Trump Administration so “[t]hat’s why you have the leaking.”
Going back to Levin, he exclaimed: “Good Lord, ladies and gentlemen. These are at least some fingerprints.”
Levin read out loud the Farkas quote before nothing that “she’s more than a witness” in this matter of Obama team surveillance but rather “a perpetrator” since she’s a political appointee:
What do we have here? They have intelligence information, they said, on the staff — the Trump’s staff’s dealings with Russians. I’m quoting this. That they would try to compromise those sources and methods. So, they had sources. They have methods. They had intelligence information on Trump’s staff’s [sic] quote, unquote “dealings” with Russians. She’s a deputy assistant secretary at defense.
Nothing how “she wanted it shared” across the Obama Administration, the charismatic conservative unleashed:
This is a smoking gun. Not in every particular but in enough particulars. Evelyn Farkas needs to be a witness in front of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees. She also needs to be interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and I’m sure the press will stalk her.
Levin minced no words when it came to the media, calling out ABC’s Brian Ross and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough (among others) with this line: “Now, I want to play this one more time because this being swept under the rug by the statist, pretorian guard media. This is a big deal. This is a big deal.”
Once viewers reheard Farkas’s March 2 disaster, Levin ruled:
This is amazing to me. Is it not amazing to you, Mr. Producer? This is stunning to me. This is an Obama Administration official. This is everything I’ve said and we also know. Again, this has nothing to do with Nunes and what was revealed to him, which was a big deal too. Ladies and gentlemen, do we or do we not need to get to the bottom of the Obama Administration’s use of intelligence agencies and the intelligence apparatus and the federal government and the use of the intelligence information. This — this lady can’t take it upon herself to reveal information, but look at the information she had. One more time, she worked at the Defense Department.
