CBS’s Late Show host Stephen Colbert took another turn into the gutter on Wednesday night to the glee of his liberal audience as he joked that Mitt Romney consuming frog legs while having dinner the evening prior with President-elect Donald Trump “taste[d] a little bit like Trump's [balls]” and so began a brief riff joking Romney had performed oral sex on Trump.
It all started by joking that current Republican National Committee chair and fellow dinner attendee Reince Preibus sounded like “an item on the menu” before Colbert moved onto noting that, of all things, Trump ordered garlic soup and “sauteed frogs legs.”
“I thought he said he was going to drain the swamp, not eat its contents. Now, here’s the thing. Sound good, though, sounds good,” Colbert quipped as the audience giggled and applauded.
Colbert ran a soundbite from Romney’s well-known speech from March 3, 2016 lambasting Trump as “phony” and “a fraud” who’d play Americans “for suckers” to the point that “[h]e gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat.”

The liberal host reappeared and then dropped the sex joke (which was bleeped by CBS) to the delight of his audience and band leader Jon Batiste: “Yes, all we get is a lousy hat, and the young garlic soup and the frogs legs. Ohh I bet those frogs legs taste a little bit like Trump's (bleep).”
Of course, he wasn’t done with the vulgarity that’s usually reserved for only conservatives and Republicans: “Did Trump enjoy this public display of his most prominent Republican critic bending the knee? I don't know. Let's just check out a photo of Trump at the dinner. Yeah, I think he did. I'm glad they shot that from the waist up because he seems very happy.”
Along with the sex joke, Colbert likened Trump to someone so sinister that he would even fire the Devil right before Christmas and come across as someone who “looks like he's feasting on baby souls”:
Now, some people think in this photo Trump looks like the devil here. I think he looks like the guy who fired the devil one week before Christmas. “You can't fire me one week before the holidays. You're a monster. What about my son Damien? You know he has asthma. He was counting on that trip to Harry Potter World.” That's my devil. So, Trump looks like he's feasting on baby souls in that photo, but let’s take another look. What about Romney? Let's take a look. [CARMINA BURANA THEME] [SAD TROMBONE MUSIC] D’oh! Oh Mitt! Oh, Mitt! I know he ordered the frog, but it looks like he's eating crow. [LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE]

11:40 p.m. EasternSTEPHEN COLBERT: Trump and Romney last night were dining at a four-star French restaurant called Jean-Georges. Sounds fancy, but, you know, Jean-Georges could be French for Waffle House. I don’t know, I don’t speak French and they were joined at dinner by Reince Priebus, who is Trump's chief of staff and not, as you may think, an item on the menu. [LAUGHTER] “Would you care to start with some Priebus? Tonight, it has been lightly Reince'd.” [LAUGHTER] The billionaire of the people ordered “young garlic soup with thyme and sauteed frogs legs.” I thought he said he was going to drain the swamp, not eat its contents. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE] Now, here’s the thing.
JON BATISTE: Easy being green, baby.
COLBERT: Sound good, though, sounds good.
BATISTE: That's right.
COLBERT: Here's thing —Mitt Romney at dinner with Trump? No. I know Mitt is up for secretary of state, but I also know what Mitt said during the campaign.
MITT ROMNEY [in 03/03/16]: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. [SCREEN WIPE] He's playing the members of the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat.
COLBERT: Yes, all we get is a lousy hat, and the young garlic soup and the frogs legs. Ohh I bet those frogs legs taste a little bit like Trump's (bleep). Did —
BATISTE: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Oh, CBS [INAUDIBLE]
