Appearing on PBS’s Charlie Rose show, actor Nathan Lane, out of the blue, took a shot at Donald Trump as he called the GOP a “bully” and “misogynist.” Lane came on to promote his Broadway revival of The Front Page and couldn’t resist comparing his character to the GOP presidential nominee.
When Rose asked Lane to explain his character “Walter Burns,” the comedic actor responded: “Well, he’s, you know, he’s many things. He’s a bully, he’s a misogynist. Wait a minute, is this Donald Trump?!”
Of course, Lane could’ve made the same comparison to the husband of the Democratic nominee, but that would’ve offended his liberal buddies.
The following is the relevant exchange as it was aired on the October 18 edition of PBS’s Charlie Rose show:
CHARLIE ROSE: Talk about Walter’s ability as a master manipulator.
NATHAN LANE: Well, he’s, you know, he’s many things. He’s a bully, he’s a misogynist. Wait a minute, is this Donald Trump?! No. He’s a, he’s a, yes he is a master manipulator.
