The superficial Nightline, a show that found time this week to cover the dilemma of pudgy pets, made time to fact check Ivanka Trump. This is the same program that has ignored ObamaCare (and all its problems) for nearly three years. On Thursday night, after a segment about extreme athletes who rock climb and surf, Dan Harris concluded, “Finally here tonight, Ivanka is supposed to be the calm, collected Trump. How she is now creating controversy tonight.”
Harris lectured, “The perspective first daughter, she is supposed to be the calm one.” Harris recapped an interview Ivanka Trump gave in which she was disputed this quote from her father on the subject of pregnancies: “The fact is it is an inconvenience for a person running a business.”
It turns out, Trump did say that. A condescending Harris lectured, “Facts, it turns out, can be inconvenient things.”
What would viewers do without Nightline fact checking the daughter of a presidential candidate (at 1:05am ET, no less). Some topics aren’t as interesting to the journalists at the ABC program. The last time Nightline covered ObamaCare was way back on November 14, 2013. Since then, the President’s signature accomplishment has fallen apart.
ABC, it seems, has priorities when it comes to what is deemed important.

1:05DAN HARRIS: Finally here tonight, Ivanka is supposed to be the calm, collected Trump. How she is now creating controversy tonight. Some might occasionally question her father’s command of the facts.
DONALD TRUMP: Fifty eight percent of African American youth are now not employed.
HARRIS: But the perspective first daughter, she is supposed to be the calm one.
IVANKA TRUMP: As a society, we need to create policies that champion all parents.
HARRIS: And yesterday Ivanka seemingly got flustered during an interview with Cosmopolitan when the reporter raised questions about her father's comments on pregnancy. The reporter asked, “In 2004 Donald Trump said that pregnancy is an inconvenient thing for a business.” Ivanka replied, “Well, you said he made those comments. I don’t know that he said those comments.” Unfortunately, it turns out he really did.
DONALD TRUMP: The fact is it is an inconvenience for a person running a business.
HARRIS: Facts, it turns out, can be inconvenient things. We want to thank you for watching ABC News tonight.
