If you are writing an article about the failure of ObamaCare, Health-care exchange sign-ups fall far short of forecasts, wouldn't the primary person you would want to quote at length be the one generally acknowledged as the disgraced architect of that plan, Jonathan Gruber? Of course. And yet Carolyn Y. Johnson of the Washington Post only provided a short quote from Gruber buried deep within the story and identified him as "an economist" with no reference to his crucial role in being the architect of ObamaCare.
This is sort of like doing a story about Wall Street and then citing Bernie Madoff as "an investor" somewhere deep inside the article. So let us start out by taking a deep plunge way down into the article and bring up the amost hidden quickie quote from Gruber who, oh yeah, was only the primary architect of this enormous flop:
“There’s no bottleneck, this is just the natural growth pains of a new market,” said Jonathan Gruber, an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “What happened is they set up this new market where insurers didn’t have experience; insurers made an estimate as to what people would cost and their estimate turned out to be too low.”
And that was it with Gruber, still in extreme deceptive mode. Nothing more from or about him in Johnson's lengthy article including any admission that perhaps the guy who designed the flawed system was at fault. Just to bring Ms. Johnson up to speed on Jonathan Gruber I refer her to the massive Newsbusters archive on this failed and deceptive Obamacare architect.

The very fact that Johnson's article on ObamaCare is so grim makes it even more absurd that Gruber is barely cited in passing as a mere economist.
Enrollment in the insurance exchanges for President Obama’s signature health-care law is at less than half the initial forecast, pushing several major insurance companies to stop offering health plans in certain markets because of significant financial losses.
As a result, the administration’s promise of a menu of health-plan choices has been replaced by a grim, though preliminary, forecast: Next year, more than 1 in 4 counties are at risk of having a single insurer on its exchange, said Cynthia Cox, who studies health reform for the Kaiser Family Foundation.
...In February 2013, the Congressional Budget Office predicted that 24 million people would buy health coverage through the federally and state-operated online exchanges by this year. Just 11.1 million people were signed up as of late March.
Well, Johnson had the opportunity to grill in depth the ObamaCare architect himself but instead barely cited him while passing him off as merely "an economist." However any journalist citing Gruber should be aware that he is not only a very deceptive character but actually gloats about his deceptions as you can see in the following video:
