April 16th, 2008 1:30 PM
A Christian group in Great Britain is suing internet search behemoth Google for religious discrimination over its refusal to place pro-Life advertisements.Oddly, the technology giant doesn't ban ads for abortion clinics or pro-abortion websites.Interesting dichotomy, wouldn't you agree? As reported by CNA last Thursday (emphasis added):

She also corrected the error about last night's function being the 20th anniversary. MRC is in its 21st year. Elizabeth Edwards to Blog for Lib Think Tank, Time's Carney Lauds the

April 8th, 2008 4:01 PM
Elizabeth Edwards, I'm sure, is a smart, capable woman. A well-educated lawyer, seasoned politician's wife, and mother of three, her battle against cancer is laudable no matter what your politics are. But in all honestly, is she really that much of a scholarly health care policy or health care finance expert?Time's Jay Carney apparently thinks so. Witness his recent pat on the back for the…

ABC's Raddatz Misunderstands Laws Regarding Soldiers' Political Partic

April 8th, 2008 11:10 AM
ABC White House reporter Martha Raddatz (file photo at right), formerly that network's Pentagon correspondent, is clueless when it comes to federal law regarding U.S. military personnel and what they can and cannot say publicly about their politics, bloggers Richard Gardner and James Joyner argue in an April 8 post at Outside the Beltway. Gardner was prompted to flesh out his strongly-worded…

BBC Changes 'Temperatures Decrease' Article to Incite Climate Hysteria

April 6th, 2008 11:42 AM
On Saturday, NewsBusters shared with readers a BBC.com report that astoundingly proclaimed "Global Temperatures 'To Decrease.'"Some time after this was posted, the third paragraph of the original piece was changed in a fashion that radically altered the meaning of the entire article (picture courtesy AP).In fact, what was once a realistic portrayal of new data released by the World Meteorological…

Olbermann and Think Progress Quote Al Qaeda #2 to Discredit McCain

April 5th, 2008 6:31 PM
In yet another in a disgraceful series of indecent journalistic collaborations, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann and Hillary Clinton's Think Progress actually quoted al Qaeda's second in command Ayman al-Zawahiri to discredit Republican presidential candidate John McCain (video embedded right, use scrollbars to properly center). I kid you not.Our story begins on Thursday when Think Progress managing…

TMZ.com Continues Mocking Military for Recovering WWII 'Old Bones

April 4th, 2008 4:16 PM
Online gossip blog TMZ.com just doesn't know when to quit. In this April 3 post, the site took time from its busy schedule tracking celebrity train wrecks to condescendingly mock former “Bachelor” reality star Navy Lt. Andy Baldwin yet again for retrieving WWII remains. This is the third time TMZ has knocked Baldwin for “diving for old bones." The bashing began in a March 20 post that explained…

Rupert Murdoch: CNN Is 'Extremely Liberal,' Free Press Not Threatened

April 4th, 2008 2:09 PM
Over at Media Bistro's fishbowlDC blog Patrick W. Gavin was on hand to live-blog an appearance by News Corp's Rupert Murdoch who visited Georgetown University's Gaston Hall to talk about the shape of today's media landscape. As reported by Gavin, Murdoch had some interesting things to say. Among his comments was that we shouldn't have any fear that the media is becoming less free and.... oh, yeah…

ABCNews.com Trumpets Dow Rally, Other Network Websites Downplay It

April 1st, 2008 6:25 PM
Wall Street saw a 391-point rally on the Dow today, the first day of the second quarter. ABCNews.com saw the development worthy of a "Breaking News" tag towards the top of its Web page and put the story in the top headlines rotation. But it appears that ABCNews.com was alone among its competitors in trumpeting the news. I checked numerous Web sites shortly after 5:30 and found ABC's to be the only…

ChiTrib's Eric Zorn Hails Earth Hour, Compares to Religious Fast

April 1st, 2008 11:38 AM
Chicago Tribune columnist/ blogger Eric Zorn is a liberal, but from what I'm familiar of his writing, he's not a cartoonishly goofy one. So at first I thought his post today -- Coming out of the dark on Earth Hour -- was a bit of an April Fool's joke. But reading and re-reading it, it became clear to me Zorn was being serious, even as he invoked quasi-religious language to describe his joy in…

[Updated: Williams Responds] | MSNBC.com Omits Jefferson's Democratic

March 31st, 2008 2:13 PM
Update at bottom of post: Williams responds (18:24 EDT) I have to hand it to the AP this time. They actually noted the political party affiliation of another Democrat in legal hot water. So did CNN.com and Reuters. But for some reason, MSNBC's Pete Williams left out the party affiliation of Louisiana's Rep. William Jefferson (D) in this March 31 item at the First Read blog:In something of a…
