With the presidential election returns on Tuesday remaining close well past 10:00 p.m. Eastern, a few figures in the major broadcast networks began to take stock of the situation (with some not taking it as well as others) with NBC’s Tom Brokaw and Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd admitting that we may have “totally underestimated” and looked down on “rural America.” 

The “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC were all live at 6:30 p.m. Eastern leading into their Election Night coverage and predictably, they were already giddy at scenes of Hillary supporters crying and the Clinton campaign’s election night event featuring a glass ceiling.

On Tuesday, the broadcast networks lead off their Election Day coverage by gushing over Hillary Clinton casting her ballot in Chappaqua, New York. The 8:00 a.m. ET breaking news coverage on the CBS, ABC, and NBC morning shows celebrated the “momentous moment” in which the Democratic nominee would find out if her “dream” of being president “comes true.”

Shortly after noon on Monday, in three publicly visible tweets to Missouri Democratic Party Senator Claire McCaskill, Mitchell referred to how "we're going to be fine in terms of taking back the Senate," whined about how FBI Director James Comey had "muddled this race," and wondered why "he sent that letter" — presumably referring to his letter to Congress in late October concerning the Hillary…

With the polls closing in roughly 24 hours NBC News took it upon themselves, during Monday’s NBC Nightly News, to tout how Republicans have been losing the support of Latino voters over the years. On Monday, the network morning shows were simultaneously giddy with excitement over FBI director James Comey “clearing” Hillary Clinton by closing the bureau’s investigation into her email scandal while also being fearful over the “political damage” that had been done to the Democratic nominee in the final days of the campaign.

Like the old saying goes: The apple doesn’t far fall from the tree. According to new e-mails released by WikiLeaks, both Chelsea Clinton and her husband Mark Mezvinsky leveraged the Clinton Foundation for personal gain. Appearing on Thursday’s NBC Late Night With Seth Meyers, aired early Friday morning, ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos worried about Donald Trump making the liberal media an “enemy” in the presidential campaign, confessing that “it's hard to walk down the street right now” and warning that reporters need “security.”

On Thursday’s NBC Today, correspondent Ronan Farrow devoted a five-minute report to promoting liberal claims of Republicans trying to suppress Democratic voter turnout on election day by targeting minority groups with voter ID laws.
