Mediaite touted some end-of-show braggadocio on Thursday's NBC Nightly News: "Lester Holt Delivers Powerful Monologue on Trump Impeachment Drama." It sounded like an advertisement as Holt promised NBC would "examine the facts and demand nothing short of the truth." This came after they skipped over Adam Schiff's completely phony summary of Trump's phone call with the president of Ukraine.

Sunnyside just aired its pilot episode "Becoming a Citizen is Complicated" Thursday and for once NBC put out an episode that properly recognizes and celebrates the American dream. Garrett Modi (Kal Penn) is a young, irresponsible councilman who has just been unanimously voted out of office due to his excessive partying and lack of real political action.

During last season’s finale, the audience was supposed to feel sympathy for Mateo (Nico Santos), the illegal immigrant who stole a woman’s identification to get his job.
